Re: Glen Drover new guitarist for Megadeth.....

Just talked with Glens brother Shawn. And yes, Glen is officially in Megadeth.

Per Shawn, Eidolon is quite pleased about the situation as they don't play many shows generally, and Glens position can only help them as a band.

On a side note, Shawn heads to sweden at the end of the month to lay drum tracks for the new Eidolon release!!!

Something to assuredly look forward to.

And yes, Glenn has traditionally used only his Marshall VS8100. When he played my rig, he uncannily reset and dialed my CAE3+se and VHT2150 to sound just like how his rig sounds too... I was quite ummm, lets say amazed. Didn't think my stuff could sound like umm, that... Detuned you might say, hehe... He liked my sound a lot when I played it at least, hehe... He didn't like it so much for himself though except for my clean sound which he thought was impressive....

I had no idea he was even in the running. I thought another fellow canuck (Jeff Waters) was going to get it.

Good for Glenn! I would like to hear those two write some stuff!

I can't remember which guitar mag I read that had an interview with Dave, but he certainly did not sound to positive about Jr. From what I gathered it had to do with money and Jr. wanting more than Dave was willing to dish out. Now I think I would have to defend Ellefson on his money requests. Touring is certainly more time consuming than recording (in terms of being away from family).

Mustaine has this persistent ability to blame everything on everyone else but himself.

If Chris Poland didn't even want to rejoin Megadeth and his lawyers/manager are STILL going after Dave, one can only assume that Chris believes he didn't get paid what he was owed for the studio work.

Y'know, it just shouldn't be that complicated to get four musicians together in a room to play the goddamn music, should it?

You should go see Some Kind of Monster. Dave actually is nothing but a failure in his own mind, always has been, since he was kicked out of Metallica. He blames himself for everything.

Sorry, but that little movie highlight shows the tip of the iceberg. Mustaine's blamed Marty, Jeff, Chris, Lars, James, Al, Junior, his management, Bud Prager, Jimmy's girlfriend, Dan Huff, Jackson Guitars, Peter, Paul, and Mary, and the list could go on and on and on. His pitiful little quips in the movie were designed for you to feel sorry for him. It's hard to feel sorry for a guy that's had that kind of success.

Yeah, even though I respect Dave's talent, he reminds me of some Dutch people....in that he's always crying about getting ripped off or how poor he is but meanwhile he probably has quite a sizable and surprisingly large fortune banked. I remember when he mentioned his wife gave him a super expensive AMG Mercedes recently.

I've brought in guys (including returning drummer Nick Menza and a soon-to-be-named bassist) that are going to give it their all,

Looks like Mustaine is insecure after the stint with Marty Friedman. That must SUCK! Having your own band, hiring a guitarist, and he's better than you. I have noticed that Mustaine has played way better since he played with Marty!

I'm sure his insecurities reach far greater than just being upstaged by another guitarist. As for guitarists, Mustaine mentioned in numerous interviews that Pitrelli was a lot better tham him too. It's quite evident that Dave wants band members who will take his evil "go to hell looks," members that will take the "General's" direction without questioning his motives, and for members who look, act, and follow his outline for being in the band.

I wish both guys a world of luck and hope it furthers their careers. Personally, I'd rather be sitting in a lawn chair in Panama City awaiting the wrath of Ivan the Terrible.
