Re: New Shadows Fall CD

well you ceratainly couldn't have Russel , Ronnie or Jorn fronting a death metal band ...it wouldn't be death metal.

Same goes that you couln't put Speed or Brian in a power metal band ...or maybe you could ...I dunno.

personally, i think melodic vocals as bridges or choruses in ultra-heavy songs sound kickass...adds a certain melody to the whole song and saves it from monotony...dont u think so?

Yeah as long as the clean vocals are not "monotony" as well ...that just sounds terrible..

If you can not carry a note singing clean ...please ...please ..please keep it dirty or fukkin' don't sing at all!

Yeahhh ...he's back in the Crown ...cool!
and the original dude (insert name) is back in the Haunted.

Yeah, he was on the latest studio album and the rerecorded album but since The Crown broke up I've heard nothing of him moving on to another band. Sucks, that dude slays.

im so with Scratch on fair's vocals. i can;t say it enough, he's awesome. and if a ronnie james dio-type fronted SF, i might puke. but the frontman from the Haunted is awesome, i'm with Bill. most of the bands bill mentions, i've never heard their stuff, hehe. (sorry bill)

Dude when I mention a band ...especially in a paticulair genre of metal, I feel that you should check em out...when I feel they are worthy enough.

I do it just to spread my joy for great music ..I'm never satisfied , I'm always searching for the next best thing ..somebody always amazing comes along once in a while and I love the "high" I get when I first hear it......like right now ..I'm listening to a band called -Winds- "The Imaginary Direction of time"...and man it is amazing IMO ...this guitarist friggin' owns ...and I mean that ...the music is somewhat "classical" in way with soft spoken vox and a string section and piano...but the guitarist (Carl August Tidmemann) is of the best I've heard in a while....and I heard so many.

I found many bad ones and many great one...the great ones I like to mention because I feel that their talents should not go unacknowledged.

Hey I saw your sig on the back of some dude's geetar...I forgot what band.

Re: New Shadows Fall CD

I finally bought the new Shadows Fall yesterday. It's a good CD, but it's really nothing special. The singer sometimes sounds like Joey Belladonna, and none of the songs are particularly catchy. Maybe it will grow on me after I've listened to it some more.

That would be Matt Bachand (Rhythm guitarist)...he splits some lead vocals with Brian Fair...does all the clean vocals, and a lot of the deeper death growls.

man, matt's a trooper too, doing his vocal melodies with the guitar parts lined up. but track 6 is awesome for matt's backing vocals. or have i mentioned it? , lol.

I have the disc sitting right next to me in a stack...It's not opened yet ...I got the double digi version.

But the new Nightwish is playing and it is very good!

Yeah the singer in SF is not all that...this is fact....but the band is pretty cool....not amazing ....just pretty cool.
