There are hardly ever any posts about these guys and I think they are one of the best metal bands out there. I know some of you see them as a second rate Norther or COB clone, but I don't see that at all. For anyone that hasn't heard them, check out Hades, Principal hero, swamp hell, using the word...hell, anything by these guys is gold. And they play jacksons! Some nice solo's, great tone, good use of keyboards, awesome melodies...check them out!

Re: Kalmah
I don't think they are a COB clone as they sound quite different. I mean not every scandinavian metal band who uses keyboards and a black metal voice is a COB rip-off.
But i agree they are awesome. I like them better than Eternal Tears of Sorrow. Dont' know but i still like their first album Swamplord the best. The newer ones are also cool just not as good as the first one.

Re: Kalmah
I think the first ones weren't that great, except for the obvious great songs like Hades, Principal Hero. The Swampsong album is where they really start to shine in my opinion. I mean, Heroes To Us has the coolest intro of probably any song I've heard in 10 years!

Re: Kalmah
They def. don't get the popularity and buzz they deserve.
They are not Bodom clones either. Bodom is more rocky and Kalmah is more thrashy. I would say both bands are almost equally skilled.Check my Jackson themed Myspace page, hear some good metal, and check out a little shred fest by me.

Re: Kalmah
Great to see so many Kalmah fans here! The only bad thing about them is when I started listening to them, I gradually listened to less and less of Bodom which sucks because bodom are still awesome, but to me if you put Both bands side by side Kalmah just have a lot more melodic riffs and well constructed songs. To me, their albums are so hard to put in any order as they all feature some killer songs.
Again, to anyone who hasn't checked these guys out, DO IT NOW!!
Oh and Horns, I will try and get around to checking out all those bands.
Cheers

Re: Kalmah
I love em, but I think they don't get the respect they deserve is because they don't tour as much as these other dudes. From what I understand (might have changed, dunno) those guys are in school and usually only play festivals. Guess if they toured as regularly as the other bands out there more people might know bout em. Well...my 2 cents anyway...

Re: Kalmah
Ha. That is sad but true Horns. If you listen to everything that is good out there, you will be listening forever. What is even sader however is that there is even more crap out there, however to listen to all that wouldn't take as long as most pop songs are max 3 min.
Yeah, I have noticed Kalmah don't tour much. Aparently they have a DVD coming out, however I'm not sure what they will put on it. Maybe some Wacken footage?

Re: Kalmah
I wish Norther's last one "Death" unlimited was a lot more easier to come by ...
I exhausted both my main metal sources (The End and Century Media) , before I had to grab one from some fag on E Bay...
Same goes with Skyfire ...nobody stocks "all" their stuff!!!!
All the Kalmah stuff is on Century Media ...so that's cool....they are awesome ...I also love The Forsaken ...another killer band."Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"

Re: Kalmah
To my ears, bands like Kalmah, Norther and Skyfire sound(for the most part)like second rate Bodom. I also have a really hard time seeing how they are any different from Bodom, other than having sloppier guitar work. I do listen to several Bodom-ish bands, but for my money, Bodom does it best.

By the way, I'm seeing Bodom on the 18th. Can't wait!
