[ QUOTE ]
Sure, will keep the collaboration idea in mind. I'll try to get some stuff together that you can hear. I'm still using a 4-track cassette recorder, so my output is slow. Eventually I'm gonna get a computer and all that jazz.

What is a Mjolnir?

[/ QUOTE ]

It is the name of Thor's Hammer.

Re: Graveland

I just wanna put this about Rob Darken.

For some people Rob is appreciated man, for some isn't. I have no opinion about him, nor I listen to NSBM, but I have a friend that was really into this BM scene (Nokturnal Mortum, Graveland ...) and he even made it to Poland, where he met Rob. Maybe he makes good music and is very talented, but he was acting sort of like a fool. His arrogance was so big, that he humiliated every non-black-metal-looking guy who crossed the street or something. He's also very ignorant and xenophobic (maybe I mispelled that one). I should better not start talking about his NS ideology...

Acutally, as a musician he's very good, but also very bad as a person. I still don't get it, why people of this age (mid 30's and above) still have this nazi thing in them, and that's mostly by people, who would end up in ashtrays or like soap (like the jews were), if Hitler would won the WW2. Racism is the same stupidity as saying that my guitar is better, because it has white finish, but yours isn't, because it's black.

Re: Graveland

It is foolish. When listening to Graveland, I never bother to think about his NS ideologies. For the enjoyment of the music, it's just not worth it.

It does annoy me though. Ever since getting interested in, purchasing, and studying Black Metal I've had to shake my head in disappointment at the stupidity and racism present in this genre. Go check out the boards at www.anus.com, and have a laugh. Idiots still trying to prove that people of African descent are somehow "inferior" to the rest of the world, and all they use to prove their crap is real life experiences with obvious idiots and dumb statistics. Truely pathetic.

This is why I love Trollskogen, Sapthuran, and similar new Black Metal bands. They're both young bands with little experience, but they have their heads on straight. No doubt in my mind that they'll release some great stuff and become worthy cult acts.

Re: Graveland

While we're on this topic of NS in Black Metal, was Darkthrone really serious with that whole "Norse Arisk Black Metal" thing and the other little crap they did with Transilvanian Hunger? Since they're a BM band it's believable, but Fenriz's humor makes it difficult to take any of that seriously. Anyone know?

Speaking of Fenriz, did we talk about how hilarious he is? Damn he has a sense of humor.

Re: Graveland

No Darkthrone did it as an attention thing. They released a press statement later saying they don't officially support that view.

And yes, Fenriz is a riot. Did you listen to Blut Aus Nord yet?

Re: Graveland

I remember reading somewhere that the statement they later released was just bullshit to get the album released. I'm confused.

Also, it seems like whenever Fenriz gets asked for his thoughts on racism and NSBM he refuses to answer. "I'm not touching this with a 666 foot pole".

Haven't bought anything by Blut Aus Nord, yet. Will do before too long.
