it was killer! saw them at the Nation in D.C.
good points: fukking awesome show. Glen Drover played all marty's and chris poland's solo's to a T. that dude is the MAN! saw him with King Diamond and he mastered all pete blakk and michael denner's solos as well. and you could tell that he wasn't even struggling a bit and just havin fun on stage! james bass playing was in perfect megadeth form. and he did it with his fingers (try that junior!) the other drover (who's first name elludes me for the moment) ripped it up perfect! kinda funny looking behind that big nick menza style cage with those big headphones on... which brings me to the bad points...
bad points: Backing Vocal Tracks!!!!! well, most people are using them these days. but it does bother me that Dave of all people would use them. oh well, thats was really not that big of a suprise or a bad point in all honesty.
the worst part of the whole thing (besides exodus having pantera stytle vocals) was the crowd itself. i guess i'm just old now and know better... but it really bothers me to see all these kids going crazy and singing all the words to these "post countdown" songs... and then when they play peace sells, they all stand there and look at each other like they have never heard the song before... untill the chorus kicked in. i mean come on... if you don't recognise that song from the first bass line in the beginning... WHAT THE HELL ARE DOING AT A MEGADETH SHOW!!!!!!!!!
overall i loved it! opening up with set the world on fire was spectacular! i could have used some more older songs in the set but what can you do.
good job dave! glad i got a chance to see megadeth before it was too late.
