Yes, the Cardinals were built in the same factory as the Washburns, but later. Why is it so hard to think that maybe Washburn were simply updating a model that they were producing in the 70s, then updated in the 80s, and then reissued in the 90s?.................Of course when you get down to it, just about every guitar out there looks like a Fender or a Gibson. The new model is cool, end of story......

The Wing series looked quite different. Normally I would agree with you Kurt, but the Scott Ian doesn't resemble the Wing closely enough to be an update of it. However, you are correct, most guitars these days are a copy in some way of Fender or Gibson products. In this case, a Les Paul DC.

And building on what you said Zeegler, it's very hard to come up with something truly orginal when it comes to guitar shapes. That is if the guitar is going to fit the body and be at all playable. We have all seen designs that look like something out of Star Trek or something that you just know you would hurt yourself on.

So taking playabliity into mind there's not much that has not been done. I personally would have liked to see Scott play somthing like a single PU Les Paul type thing, maybe Washburn's Icon with a single PU, now that would have been cool.

I know what you mean. It's very difficult to come up with a unique guitar shape that doesn't look silly. I like pointy guitars as much as the next guy, but first and foremost, it has to be comfortable, and well balanced.

Don't get me wrong either. I'm not saying I don't like the Scott Ian model. Hell, I have 3 of the Aria Pro versions.

yeah the Donais model is really cool. no idea about that semele wood though, never heard of it...

i guess that since Anthrax is once again a force to be reckoned with, he ditched the neck pu and that awesome kill switch...
