Re: Phil Anselmo speaks about Dime

Well, I don't want Sully to have to find the "dead horse" graemlin. I'd just say one more time, I never said I knew what happened. To me I just feel that Phil blaming the metal media, but taking no personal responsibility, is bullsh!t. If he'd own up to his words
instead of blaming the mags, I'd have much more sympathy for the guy. I feel bad for Vinnie, he watched his brother get shot down.
I can't imagine how that felt, and would never want to know.

[/ QUOTE ]Tell that to Vinnie Paul Abbott. He just might disagree with you. At the very least, anyone second-guessing his call in banning Phil from the funeral is out of line. The family knows more than we do about all of this, and I think what they decided was right.Hey Tommy! "Oh, I wish I were in the land of cotton..."Oh wait! I AM in the land of cotton!!!

All i know is that when Dime died, a tiny piece of me died too. Anselmo saying he's sorry or even dying is not going to change that. What happened happened. Let the man rest.

Re: Phil Anselmo speaks about Dime

having experience myself with the wonderful journalists at metal hammer...you can be sure they took his tiny comment and blew it up big, in fact put it on the cover...and i speculate that darrell's image in the knife phil is holding is photoshopped by the metal hammer graphics people. phil is right , those media guys are shits. i dont agree with him blaming the fall of pantera and this tragedy on them. and if Vinnie banned him, fair enough...old bandmates often end up like old girlfriends. I have said negative things in the past, similar things, about former bandmates of mine, and i would still like to beat a few of them, but i dont wish death on any of them.
In the end I think Phil's sincerely hurting, and regardless if they weren't getting along recently, he loved Darrell.
this IS about Diamond Darrell....who we all obviously miss so much we want to find someone who is alive to blame.
too bad that bucknut Gale didnt live long enough to feel the pain we all feel with this loss.

Moral of the story: Be careful what you say to/about the people you care about because you can't take it back, especially in a situation such as this.

Well, Dimebags tragic killing certainly changed Phil's little world. From his statement it certainly shows that he has a ton of remorse and unfinished business with Dime that will unfortunately for him, never be resolved.
