It is all carefully orchestrated to convince the youth *what one needs to buy* in order to be cool. Then there is a critical mass of "converts" and peer pressure enters the mix. And it snowballs from there. It's pure evil genius!

Think about it. This ghetto culture is reviled by the majority of the black community (Bill Cosby, Chris Rock, etc). Of all the "lifestyles" in America, it speaks to the power of these corporate marketers that they are able to take the most repugnant lifestyle that exists in America today....and turn it into a fashion statement! Talk about the emperor's new clothes!

SS I absolutely agree...of course all this BS was the aftermath of the Coporate agenda to conform these sheeple..to target those that will get pulled in by promotong it to death..everywhere you look there was something promoting hip hop...it's goal was to make ONE happy costumer...No black ...no white...it was one universal image ..look at any fasion label that was popular during the entire 90s...it mirrored whatever the rappers were wearing ...I couldn't find a normal fitting pair of jeans for ten years...I had to special order all my black Levis..

In movies the white guy is always cast as a geek who can't get pussy and the smooth talkin' black kid or kids in the movie has hordes of puss falling out their pockets...it was not cool to be white anymore...the almighty black man became the alpha male... even our fathers and some of us worship and spend more time watching the NBA or the NFL than with our families and kids...and when your daughter is swinging from their overpayed and retared dicks...well if they were good enough for you to worship them all these years ...how can you complain..

Now it's almost gone...and white kids can now breathe again and have their own idenity now with this metal-core popularity...and or metal in general...these very same kids loved Limp Biscuit and Master P just two years earlier because that's all that was promoted as "cool"...now the pressure is off..but now "metal" is cool and you can wear a Maiden shirt without being embarrassed...what a shame....shame shame shame..

Unfortunately throughout the years, his face has been up against more things than mirrors. I have 7 kids ranging from 16 to 27. All of them have their different musical tastes and as a parent you have to learn to tolerant to a certain extent. God know my parents were. [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

3 boys & 4 girls. The older girl leans toward metal rock, hair band which is ok, the younger girl is a musician herself (my only one), but she prefers stuff like John Mayer, musicals

The boys, ah the boys (was I like that, I ask myself once in a while). My oldest (25), not sure what he into. He's been on his own since 17 and doing great. My youngest is into the Maryln Manson, Slipknot scene. Not a big fan, but I can tolerate.

Now I get to my 21 year old. When he comes in the house with his belt buckle around his knees, trying to use my stereo to play 50 cents, or Jay-Z, I flip. The music is bad enough, but when he tries pulling his bullsh1t Billy-Badass routine on me, that's it. Walking and talking like something he ain't, creeps me out.

Now I'm sure, as a parent, you have to have some leeway. When my parents were listening to the Everly Brothers, Johnny Mathis and watching Lawrence Welk, I'm sure their tolerence level was maxed out when I was cranking out Mahogany Rush, Zep and Emerson,lake and Palmer, among others.

Speaking of which, the 21 year old got the boot out of the house last night as a matter of fact. He's on his way to Philadelphia to live with some friends and no doubt, walk around like gangsta's [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img], no job, no money, but wannabe "pimps" [img]/images/graemlins/what.gif[/img].
