Re: Kreator!

I saw them live yesterday night! Kreator kicks major asses!

Mille and company played Jackson all night (a black KV, a natural finish Dinky Reverse and a black/green bevels Rhoads Bass)

This was the 4th time I see them but probably the best show ever.

my person favorite is Coma of Souls. Great songs, great tone, and killer leads from Frank (aka Sodom's Blackfire). i recently watched the DVD which got me back into the band big time...my only question is who's the other guitar player...he looks wooden and a bit out of place in the band.

Yeah true, he doesn't really head bang much. Good guitar player though

Re: Kreator!

bought the album yesterday...it's awesome. kick's serious ass, really. the bonus DVD stuff is nice, too, although i like for example the cannibal corpse-the wretched spawn dvd better.
now, the most important question is: how did they get the AWESOME sound? imho it's great, very tight, punchy and clear. on their website it says that they use 5150 amps, i remember seeing marshall fullstacks on stage for the live creation stuff......but keep in mind that it's an andy sneap production...smells like recto ^^
live creation has one of the best live sounds ever, btw.

and i totally agree, the drum sound kicks ass, too. the bass also sounds incredible, very punchy and fat, just like a bass is supposed to sound imo.

Mille now uses ENGL Fireballs. I saw him use it last night.

They were so intense. Their new songs even now are like anthems.

Dark Tranquility were soooo boring though. Terrible.

Re: Kreator!

my only critism is that mille's vocals can get a bit tiresome. i preferred ventor's vox when he used to spilt the singing with mille...especially circa "pleasure to kill" era. however, having the drummer sing makes for a boring live show...

when I saw them a couple of weeks ago they were using a 5150 and a Mesaboogie Triple Rect.

I saw them back in 1989 with Coroner. I used to listen to flag of hate all the time. That was a great show.

Re: Kreator!

Ok, saw them yesterday... but all the amps were covered, with the covering cloths painted in a scheme to match the (huge) banner in the background.
Mille played his good old Rhoads for the first three songs or something, then switched to his King V.
Apart from that it was the Rhoads bass and the natural finish Dinky Reverse like mentioned before.

Great show, they played for almost two hours!

Re: Kreator!

Well, I'm back from Cradle of Filth, Dark Tranquillity and Kreator show in helsinki, and what can I say. Kreator had good sounds overall..they used same gear - King V and soloist - as mentoined here earlier, and there was so much smoke and light show I couldn't recognize any amps. But it was still a great show

the new album is indeed amazing. I recommend it to all old-school Kreator fans. They are touring the states soon.

Kreator was always an influence on my playing since I first got hooked up with them in 1988. I wish I had made to Essen to see them when I lived in Germany in 1985! I have every album (even the 'whisper voice' one).
