necrotechno, GWAR has nothing to do with this thread. Please start your own GWAR appreciation thread (so everyone can laugh at you there) and let everyone get back to bashing Kirk and Dave here.

No owning here. Just giving this thread a chance to remain open before it's pulled over the sh*tstorm that is about to happen because someone doesn't know what kind of brouhaha his completely out of place comments will start.

In case your browser's scroll function doesn't work, I'm not the one who brought up GWAR.

No need to get snotty about it. Be the bigger man and drop the issue.

Should we have started the topic the first place, considering that we're in the JACKSON forum? Anyways. Metallica wrote and writes pop, cheezy stuff, for those who don't know what heavy metal is. Megadeth is different, no matter how much it sucked, occasionally. So, basically, don't compare finger with a dick

[/ QUOTE ]Well, first many artists are discussed in this section who don't play Jacksons or Charvels. The admins have obviously decided this is okay since they've never made an issue about it. I know Newc doesn't approve, but few other than he, and you I guess, have complained about it.We'd miss out on discussing MOST metal artists if this were Jackson players only.Second, despite ESP endorsements both Hammett and Mustaine played much of their rep-building stuff on Jacksons, and Kirk still uses a Rhoads live, so this is still a valid place for this thread.

And we are still not back on topic...

                  So

Dave vs Kirk as soloist only who do you take
I keep the bible in a pool of blood

I'll put it back on topic, but first I gotta ask... What, is it 1988? As I think that was the last time I ever though about the Kirk vs Dave as a soloist thing!

Back then, I thought Dave was better, esp. with Peace sells, even though Master has some good solos. My favorite Kirk solos are the "worked out" ones from Justice and Master (and some off ride Ride). His off the cuff wah stuff is okay but not as impressive. I won't even comment about Kill Em all, as I think most of those solos were written by Mustaine only to be played by Kirk. Not too impressed with his stuff since the 90s.

Now Dave: I love the early stuff, but his playing does seem to be little repetitive, throughout the albums. My faves are Peace sells, Rust, and Countdown, but I don't think they would be my faves if Marty/Chris didn't also play on them, as they added an exotic feel that was different from Dave.

Hmm, I don't think I properly answered the question! Maybe this, Dave in the early to mid-80s, Kirk from then up to '89, then Dave from 1990 on. How's that?!

Again, you're chastising the wrong person.

If I'm remembering correctly, Accept2's comment is a reaction to my mentioning Dave Brockie (aka Oderus Urungus) criticizing KISS and some of their business ventures. This was like two or three *YEARS* ago. I don't know what the persecution obsession there is, but it's not mine.

Anyway, back to Dave vs. Kirk... I don't seem to recall Dave ever playing any of Kirk's leads. But Kirk still gets paid to play Dave's leads.

A survival strategy here is, when an admin directly tells you to drop it, you should drop it, unlessyou're ready to be banned for evangelizing about GWAR. Face the fact that they are a joke/novelty act and that few take them seriously, whether they can play or not. You are incapable of changing that by arguing with the admins on a guitar forum. GWAR goes with Green Jelly in the minds of most, forever and ever, world without end, Amen. If you want to name a humorous band that can play, try Scatterbrain. They have chops and are funny!
