I have the Strung Out (Punk band) version of Bark at the Moon and the solo in there is already friggin' impressive (see to listen to the live version)...

Wowaaaaa Gary Moore played for Ozzy? THE Gary Moore, Mr Blues/Latin music? Now that's a surprise

Did Gary record anything with Ozzy?
Would be really interesting to hear!

Re: Who\'s Jake E. Lee? Should I die for asking thi

I bought the Bark reissue, and the first thing I noticed was tons of Jake's guitar stuff missing. I did find a used original CD at Hastings, so that's good
I also had the first Badlands tape, and I thought Jake pulled off the elusive "this is not just 'Ozzy Guitar' in another band" very well.

I didn't really care for Ultimate Sin, maybe one or two tracks from it as far as I can recall. I didn't like Shot In The Dark - thought it was way too wimpy for Ozzy (but then again I'm a die-hard Sabbath fan that thought Blizzard Of Oz sucked when it came out because it didn't sound like Sabbath, and that Randy guy didn't sound like Tony at all )

Jake is my favorite too. I agree.. Ozzy had a bunch of guitar players. Heck, I was almost one of them.

Gary Moore never recorded or toured with Ozzy. From what I've read, he rehearsed with Ozzy in 1979 for a pre-Blizzard of Ozz project that never materialized, and that's it.

Despite the 'official version' that the Osbournes tell now, Ozzy was quite actively trying to get a new band together immediately after getting fired from Sabbath, well before Randy or Sharon entered the picture.

and amoung all those great guitarists he played with, dont forget George Lynch was actually in there too. He never toured or recorded with Ozzy, but he was employed by him for only a few days as his "guitarist" somewhere between Randy and Jake. He only lasted a few days before Ozzy fired him. I remember reading a article with George about this.
Ozzy sure has worked with a massive amount of talent.

And still failed to surpass Blizzard or Diary in quality I might add.

Might be some truth to Bob Daisely and Kerslake's story.....

I don't care what Ozzy's become, proud of Tony Iommi for at least working sabbath in the 1980's and 90's, but replacing the tracks in classic albums sickens me. Just pay the mf'ers especially if they wrote the damn material.

Yep. And after Zakk left for a brief period in the late '90s, Joe Holmes took his place on tour (I saw him on Ozzfest, he was awesome!) Joe was supposed to write and record with Ozzy, but then Ozzy decided to get Zakk back. Joe was also a student of Randy Rhoads and played in Lizzy Borden.

I saw Joe too, he was a good guitarist and i was very impressed with him. He had a nice thick tone and he was using Fender strats.

Were they Fenders or Charvels? He definitely used to play some old Charvel Strats, I've seen him phographed with at least two.

He had some strathead charvies as well.He got his first when he was a student of Rhoads(he said rhoads would sometimes teach when he was home between tours and lp's.He did have fenders too, but there's a guitar mag from his time with ozz that shows him holding a san dimas charvel.

I liked his solo spot with ozzy.He played bits of songs from the rhoads era that wasnt in the set list, mostly the solos and the parts that came before them.Cnat kill rock and roll, beleiver, over the mountain ect...really cool stuff. He played that stuff note for note and sounded great to boot.
