    "Droogies!

I was in the dressing room tonight and the guys told me some of you have been conducting lame polls about former members compared to my new bandmates.

    Let me remind you:

Comparing James to Junior . . . James wins. Junior sued me for 18.5 million and lost, dragged me, my band, and family through the mud.

James only wants to rock and please y'all. How could you be so stupid?

Comparing Glen to Al . . . Glen wins. Al was good, very good in fact, but his heart was elsewhere. And I have seen Al purposely sign his name over my face on albums and photos, talk poorly about me when I have gone out of my way to say how good he was.

Comparing Glen to Marty . . . Glen wins. Marty quit to be a guitarist for a chick in Japan and play pop, he wears kimonos, and high heel platform shoes now. I told him after RISK that we had to go back to our roots and play metal and he quit.

Comparing Glen to Jeff . . . Glen wins. Jeff was a great guitarist but was disinteresed in matching previous guitar solos by Chris, and he alledgedly hit on Diana. Jeff was also much more suited to do his own thing and in a different type of music.

Comparing Glen to Chris . . . Glen wins. Chris plays jazz, always has, and never played the same solo two nights in a row. I must say that Glen borderline worships Chris though.

Glen only wants to rock and please y'all. How could you be so stupid?

Comparing Shawn to Jimmy . . . Shawn wins. Jimmy was not very happy around Megadeth, and that made it hard to be around him. Compare any studio album to Rude Awakening and you will see he did not care to play the songs the way they were recorded.

Comparing Shawn to Nick . . . Shawn wins. I tried to work things out again with Nick but he is not here for a reason; he was sent home becuase he was not prepared and he can't play Megadeth songs anymore.

Comparing Shawn to Gar . . . now this is hard, and I will say its a tie. They are both fantastic.

Otherwise Shawn only wants to rock and please y'all. How could you be so stupid?

And although this does not apply to everyone, you offend me when you post polls on my site about who wants to see who back in Megadeth.

These are my boys, love em or leave.

    And I am not kidding."

Re: I Want What Dave Is Smoking

while his post maybe really anal, i could see how he could get so agitated. think about if you had a band and you really liked what you did with past members, but you had a touring band because of differences with your previous bandmembers. Imagine then someone comes up to you at a party or a get together of some sort, and starts saying "this new member sucks, i like the old member better" right in front of your face. I mean what are you going to say "dont come to my concerts the new members arent as good as the old ones." Obviously your going to support your new members, and obvioulsy your going to respect them for going out on tour with you rather than quitting.

I'm surprised he didn't diss Chuck Behler with something on the lines of "Chuck's my pal, but he's fatter than my dog and twice as stinky."

He didn't bother to mention Chuck at all, is that a greater or lesser diss? I agree though
that it sounds like his current bandmembers mentioned this to him and I see nothing wrong in him defending them. He never said the current guys were better players; he said they want to be thee and please Dave and the fans. The others, besides Menza, don't want to be there, so they DON'T want to please Megadeth fans. Menza apparently can't play the stuff anymore; would you want to see him fuking up the songs live, just for him to be there?

I can't fault Dave for sticking up for his current sidemen. They want to be there and they're great musicians. Try learning Marty and Chris' solos with a month's notice between hiring and touring. That's a LOT of tough solos to pick up on, Glen's doing his best. So are Shawn and James. I personally wouldn't care to see the lineup with Pitrelli and DeGrasso anyway, I don't find their playing interesting at all though they're good enough.
He's got good players who want to be there, and it's that or no Megadeth tour.

So this is finally over? If so, great!

I couldn't believe how ridiculous that lawsuit was. Everybody knew from day one of the "disbanding" that it was really just a break. If it wasn't for Junior's greed he'd probably still be in the band.
please don't put it into words, 'cause I fear what you're thinking

Re: I Want What Dave Is Smoking

what's sad is the old guys probably would love to play the old stuff and be touring and all that, but probably don't feel it is worth it to put up with Dave's crap. I would guess he has alot of power and control issues stemming from the fact that he was a major geek as a kid and probably got beat up by everyone from the "slightly nerdy" on up the chain. That kind of stuff can lead you to be a real butthole.

Ultimately, the current band is more of a solo project than 'Megadeth' as it's just Dave and 3 hired hands (who maybe great, wonderful people and players, but they haven't even played on one album). I'm just glad I saw them on the Rust in Peace tour, and I'll wait with interest to see what DM's solo career does.
I think it's interesting that for all the bitching and whining Dave did about the way he was treated when he was kicked out of metallica, he's pretty much done the same to the guys who have left / been kicked out of Megadeth....

Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get
