I'm positive that these guys would be able to do more complex stuff. But guess what, the niche they're in is/was ( at least for a while) VERY lucrative. Anyone'd be smart to keep playing those simple power chords.

And you know, listening to them, really reminds me of those good old highscool days LOL (I'm still very young).

As much as musical taste is opinion, blah blah blah there is the test of time. AND THERE IS NO **** WAY BLINK 182 WILL STAND THAT TEST. That said, if the opporunity arouse for me to join a shitty band like that and make a ton of dough and get lots of chicks, I'd do it, cash in, put a recording studio in my basement and make the music I want to make for the rest of my life.

There are far worse things than blink out there. Good Charlotte, Simple Plane, wait stop actually 90% of what MTV plays that they would try and pass as rock sucks ass. Blink was the lesser of most evils seen on that channel.

I think this news sucks..

Blink 182s music isn't technical of difficult or whatever, but the songs make you feel happy, carefree and they are fun to play along.. something different than the metalstuff I usually play along with.

they have songs that make no sense.. " wouldn't it be nice to have a bl0wj0b" and they repeat that 16 times with a catchy tune behind it.. and all their songs are about 2:30.. but that doesn't matter, it's blink!

I like them. They had a good run. Their last song "Getting Away With Murder" is a good song. I actually like alot of those type of bands. Greenday is good too. I always thought Billy Joe got great guitar sound. Blink 182 had a ton of hits and stayed very popular for a really long time.

OMG....OMG...OMG.....a day of celebration. I could never remember their name, Blink 127, 158, 144, whatever, but my daughter used to play that sh!t in the car. Other than U2, being the worst I ever heard, Blink 138 was a close 2nd. (my opinion).

I don't own any of their albums but I know a bunch of their songs from the radio. No, they weren't technically sophisticated or anything but they wrote good, fun songs and made a bunch of money playing music (I'm sure what 99% of us here dream of). I was in a cover band last year that played "What's My Age Again" and I had a blast playing it.

And actually, the drummer is pretty good.

That is my point exactly, some of the biggest rock groups wrote some of the most simple songs! I am not saying blink will ever go down in history with the likes of these groups, but the point is they wrote good catchy songs and had fun doing it and always stayed true to themselves. I wasnt the biggest fan of theres, but liked a few of there songs and i respect ALL music.
