• Any Stryper fans in the house?

I have been a big fan of Stryper since I first heard them way back in high school. In fact, they were the reason I got interested in guitar.

I'm not a religious person, but the music, melodies, and harmonies these guys can accomplish are astounding to me. Not too mention Michael Sweet and OZ Fox played Charvels and Jacksons back in the day. I know OZ still plays Charvels and Jacksons, but Michael had moved on to PRS's and a pleathora of other brands, Peavey, Godin, Ibanez to name a few.

Anyway I was just curious if any one else was/is a fan.

I once outed a bunch of Stryper fans in a blog. It was amazing that so many people liked them and consider them a guilty pleasure.

Let's face it...even if you are not a holy roller type (and I'm certainly not), "To Hell With The Devil" should definitely make you want to fire up your amp and plug your guitar in!

I really only enjoyed the Yellow and Black Attack, and I love every tune on it.
The later stuff was real spotty with a too much cheese for my taste.

Would I still go see them now? Oh - Yeah!

Oz was so cool, big reason why I like Jacksons.

Wasn't Leatherwolf a Christian band? I liked their Endangered Species album. Great three guitar work. As for Stryper, I could never get into them.

Leatherwolf a Christian band?? I think not..

Stryper is great.
My first album was The Yellow & Black Attack too back in mid 80's and my first show was on In God We Trust tour.
Great band but after the album "In God We Trust", they started to sound different though.
They even started using different colors like Blue and Silver...

Leather Wolf was cool. I especialy liked the record with the CCR cover on it (Bad Moon Rising). What ever happened to that band?

Ron(RacerX) knows the band well.
I think there is a website of Leatherwolf.

I was listening to the album "Street Ready" and it rocks!

No leather wolf wasnt christian, BUT the guy who replaced Tim Gaines was from leatherwolf, he appeared in the adds for to hell with the devil.I heard it was all his bass tracks, not tims on the lp. Tim came back after the lp was done.In fact, the outfit tim wore for the album was the other guys, they had to tailor it to fit Tim since the other guy was real short.

Yeah, im a fan.

I bet I saw Stryper live before any of y'all! That's because they're local kids and used to play in churches before hitting it big (well, they were Roxx Regime before the conversion). I was a huge fan back in the Yellow & Black Attack and Soldiers Under Command era.

Man, what memories: metal was so huge in the mid 80s, there were enough Christian metal bands in the LA area alone that large local churches would have metal concerts practically every Friday night!

I have a dear friend who is a major Stryper memorabilia collector! He has all the albums, lots of tickets, passes, Bibles, etc. Some local guy has the yellow & black Ford van that was on the cover of Soldiers!

I always avoided Stryper, 'cos I couldn't get to grips with the whole God schtick. However, I recently picked up a copy of "Against The Law", and it's one of the best guitar-madness albums I've heard since "Eat'em and Smile"! Okay, some of the songs are a little cheesy, but Oz Fox is just heroic!
