Re: Randy Rhoads - 23 years ago today

    Hi, my first post here.

It's really crazy to think about how young Randy was when he died and how much influence he's had with just two albums.

He's pretty much the same age as Vai and I just can't get over how cool it would have been to see him on a G3 tour. Of all the rock musicians who left us before their time, I think his death upsets me the most because he died in such a stupid way.

I'm going to make a lame attempt at playing Crazy Train today, as well.

He was, is, and always will be #1 in my eyes. Silly as it may sound, I named my son Randy in honor of him. RIP RR.

I just happened to come across this site while doing a search for Randy.

                        http://www.angelfire.com/ca/HONEYCOM...UT/rhoads.html

Don't know if you guys have seen it already or not but there are a bunch of audio clips as well as a new bootleg video of him playing Laughing Gas live. I'm going to spend a little more time over there and see what else this guy has on Randy.

                        R.I.P brother.

I get a lot of people that come up to me at our shows asking for guitar lessons and what not. I usually tell them, "if you want to hear the best ever, go listen to anything by Randy Rhoads". His playing and style inspired me more than any other musician.

I have a lot of guitar heroes, but there is just something very special about Randy and the music he left behind.

Rhoads was always my favorite guitarist also. Tribute is my all time favorite album of all time. Every time I listen to his work I'm inspired to practice harder.
