• Doobie Brothers

I saw them back in the summertime for the first time, even though I liked them back in the 70's. I also ordered a DVD by them and was blown away watching them and their level of musicianship.

Listening to these guys on a CD doesn't do them justice. To watch them. Unbelieveable

2 drummers in synch. 9 people in the band, all of them singing harmonies. Several of the musician play 2 or 3 different instruments.

They're coming to Readington, NJ this summer, so I gotta see them again. If you've ever got to see them, you know what I'm talking about.

This is sad, but anyone remember the 2 part episode of "What's Happenin'" when the Doobies played at the local high school and Re Run tried to bootleg the concert? He started dancing and the recorder fell out of his pocket and they stopped the show.

Later, when they listened to the tape all they heard was Re Run chewing on popcorn.

    Ok, I'll stop now.

Rerun thats good shit I saw a rerun(no pun) of the weekest link hasbeen celebrity whatever and he was the first one gone-heyheyhey rodge nothing like bad tv- got to hand it to the guy though he has made a whole career out of a dumbass tv character- he was still dressed the same only in his 50's- Oops he's dead died 2 years ago-

Yea most of the old 70's bands are at another level when it comes to musicianship and the level of preformance. I would go see them in a minute, just like the eagles. I saw deep purple perfect strangers and they were tight-one of my all time favorites.

I just a lot of these guys have such a good roots rock background that they have solid foundation to build up.

I saw John Fogerty on Austin City limits and was blown away-

Never saw 'em live, but the pre-Michael McDonald Doobies were a hell of a band. I *wish* I could write something as brilliant as "Long Train Runnin'"!

Yeah, I remember seeing that episode. I saw ol' Freddie on Carson Daly ( I think it was) not too long before he died. He did age pretty well. Didn't look much different than when he was on What's Happenin'. Raj's laugh was funny too. He looked like a taller Erkel.

That's so true, good call . I'm going to search the net for the Doobie episode; a little blast from the past .
