• Tightest death metal band you will ever hear...

I guarantee it. My good friends from San Diego are about to put out an album that will raise the bar for technical/brutal death metal that I don't see anyone else topping this year. I had the honor of being there when Diego tracked half of his guitar parts.

Be sure and check out the mp3 from the new album:

Ace can you let us in on some gear info. I can't tell whether the guitarists beast is an NJ or a USA model. Cool sound though what ever it is

big words - especially because of Origin's "echoes of decimation" ( i'll see in about 5 minutes if it's as technical/brutal as Informis ... ) and the new Cryptopsy

nonetheless i'll check it

Re: Tightest death metal band you will ever hear..

From the advance tracks I've heard from the new Origin, and judging them from Informis and the many times I've seen the band live, I'd have to say that the new Disgorge will top their new album in therms of brutality and technicality. Both Origin and Cryptopsy are formidable death metal bands, but I think that Disgorge tops Origin in song structure and has a darker more "death metal" feeling than Cryptopsy's super-math-hardcore sound they've had lately.

But hey, it's up to you to judge for yourselves. As for gear, I am a good friend of the whole band, especially Diego, and I've even done quite a bit of tech work for them.

Diego: BC Rich NJ Series Beast with an EMG 81. He has used a BOSS half-rackspace processor(I forget the model) into both Mesa Boogie and Marshall tube power amps(though not at the same time). He recently picked up a Line6 HD147 that he's used for about two or three shows that he likes. He has Jackson, Marshall and Mesa 4x12's

Ed: LTD 24 fret strat-style. He custom ordered it about a year or so ago. He owns several other guitars that he uses occasionally, including a Washburn and I think maybe a BC Rich. He plays into a POD Pro and a Mesa power amp(I forget which, maybe a 50:50) He has a Genz-Benz cabinet and another I can't remember.

Ben: He plays some sort of custom left handed bass that I forgot who made for him.

That shit sounds mad, I'm def in for it when it gets released.
But I cant help but pimp my fellow aussies Psycroptic. Most impressive live death I've seen, it was tighter then the album! And I was scrutinizing! Must be that dxmg he was shredding on...

Downloading the sample at the moment.

I have Consume The Forsaken, which is a pretty kick ass CD.

Matt? Matti left the band around 2001.

Ace, you didn't exaggerate... those guys are tight and kick some serious ass.

Thanks for the info, actually our other guitarist knew about them before, but he didn't know about the new song. He loves it, too.
