New TRIVIUM - "Acendancy"....anyone have it?

Anyone have the new TRIVIUM yet? "Acendancy" came out last week (Monday?) and it kills! Anyone else's thoughts?!

I got it. The first time I heard of them was on Headbanger's ball last weekend when they played the video. It's the first time in ages that I was so impressed by a music video that I went out and got the album. So far I really like it but have not had the chance to get too into it because of a crazy work schedule and I'm heavily into the new BLS right now.

I havent bought it but I have been listening to it on realone rhapsody alot. Its a kickass record, I like it alot.

I like it, but after a while it gets kind of...lame, for lack of a better word.

Great musicians and songwriters, but I'm getting sick of the whole melodic thrash with clean vocals thing.

Ya know it was nice seeing some guitar solos and good complex writing come back to the American bands like Shadows fall, but these guys seem like the beginning of the end of this little resurgence of good metal. Yeah, they play solos but, no balls.

Can you make the singer look and act anymore like Hetfield?

This will kill it.

Farewell to Freeway is even worse but the same "Oh let's jump on this bandwagon" kind of sound.

I've got it. I just wish it had the same "edge" as when thier singer sang for Capharnaum. At least they solo rhough.

I had been waiting for this album to come out ever since I heard "Like Light to Flies" on Headbanger's Ball, and now that I have it I'm...disappointed. There are some great moments on the CD, but a lot of it is filler that just runs together.

Unlike DSS3, I wish he'd use his clean voice more, or better yet, find a voice in between. I'm tired of this "RRRAAAAAARR, I'M ANGRY AND I'M GONNA YELL A LOT...ahhh, butterflies and daisies, sunny days...WAIT, NOW I'M PISSED!" vocal stylings. What happened to the days when guys would just put an edge into their voice and belt it out?

The guitar soloing flat out sounds like they're just stringing chops together. Absolutely no feeling behind it. I think guys like Zakk Wylde are proof that you can mix chops and feeling together, but I'm starting to think it is a rarity to find both together.

Bought it - was really into it at first, but then I started noticing the same things that most of you guys have mentioned. It's kinda bland and generic, some good stuff, but nothing great or mind blowing. Not bad for a bunch of kids who mostly aren't even of legal drinking age yet.
