Yep, he was either 17 or 18 I believe.
I recall at that time there was a buzz about his age.

The intro was a pretty ballsy thing to send in...I wonder what Ozzy thought when he heard it...It is pretty different from all of that full-on shred that was happening back in the day. I bet that worked to Zakk's benefit.

He was 19 when he was hired.I got that from the Randy R. Guitar legends[Guitar World] mag that just came out.
