What guitar to have signed by Motley Crue?

I was always a big fan of the Crue back in the day. Still am actually. I will be meeting them when they come to Pittsburgh in August.

I'm trying to think ahead & figure out what guitar would be most appropriate to have signed by them (I'm going to buy something specifically for this I think)

Any ideas anyone?

Some thoughts I've had are:

Black Les Paul Custom (Mick played one in the early days)

An early BC Rich Warlock...(preferably white) but this could get expensive & probably wouldn't see much action after being signed....that would kind of be a waste.

A White Kramer Baretta (like Theatre of Pain era)...maybe one of those new 1984 Barettas in white would do.

Any thoughts?

Bring their Too Fast For Love or Shout at the Devil record covers.

I hate when people scribble over perfectly good guitars.

I tend to agree with Xeno: Personally, I'd just take a back plate and have them sign that, as signed guitars don't do much for me.....

the problem with signed guitars is it rubs off, so i would have them do either a record or a back plate and then keep the plate off the guitar when you play it. I would go with the les paul custom or the krammer since they are cheaper.

I'd just have records or backplates (great idea!) signed.

I agree, snag a nice copy of your favorite Crue album on vinyl, have it signed and then hang it up in a nice frame.

When I met them the 1st time I had them sign My 1st edition Shout Gate Fold album, Looks AWSOME

Bringing a (vinyl) album cover for them to sign shows you are a die-hard fan from the olden days [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]

I wouldn't have anyone sign any of my guitars. Maybe a CD or a magazine or something, but writing on a perfectly good guitar is stupid IMHO.
