    NEED SOME INFO ON VITO BRATTA OF WHITE LION

    <font color="yellow">I've always been a major fan of Vito's playing while with White Lion. He had great tone, chops, and a great guitar sound.

    I recently got a ADA MP-1 and am really getting into it and am building my rack around it. It's surprisingly warm and very Marshally sounding. Theres a mod called the 3TM (3 tube mod) which I've heard clips of and I'm going to have mine modded soon.

    I know for guitars, he used either Steinberger GM1TA's (for the most part) and ESP Custom Strats almost exclusively.

    Does anybody have any good resources or information on Vito??

    I've looked online and there isn't a whole lot I've been able to find.

    don't forget it's got a lot to do with your fingers and how you attack the strings as well sammy dude.

      I can tell you that he used 4-6 fingers while playing.. [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

      Seriously tho, i seemed to remember BBE's and furmans in his rack and tons of van halen on the brain!I really like his playing alot.I never considered him an influence, but i have been told to take it easy on the "vito" riffs.Ya know, the little noodling he does in the verses between vocals, love that stuff.

      I beleive his guitars had emg's in them.I dont think he had those ADA's til 89 so the tone he had before had to be his marshalls.Im willing to bet he still used them and the ADA's in some kind of blending of the two.I knew of guys who used thier marshalls to power their ada's and sounded real good.

        I don't know anything about his rig. I know he refused to tour with Mike Tramp this time around, so Mike has someone else playing with him. I also heard that Vito is now in the computer industry, having given up guitar as the result of a wrist injury. If that is true, it is sad as he was a really talented player who could actually phrase a melodic solo and who had stunning chops. I think he took the EVH style to a whole new level of skill.

          Couldn't find much either man....
          i did locate this:

          ADA MP-1
          Roland Jazz Chorus JC120 (Vito used these before he switched to the ADA MP-1 setup.)
          Carvin Power Amp (Vito used this with his ADA MP-1 preamps.)
          Steinberger GM1TA (white 1988 model)
          1967 Marshall 4X12 Cabinet (Vito used this vintage cabinet on the Big Game album.)

                  I think he used ADA MP1 and Carvin 300? watt power amp.
                  Also EMG pickups would be another thing to think.

                          The guitar playing on Pride is masterful. I used to hang out with him. He was a monster player as a teenager. He was a total EVH clone. He could play exactly like Eddy and was able to rip off every Eddy riff seconds after the albums were released. Personally, I liked Vito's playing better than Eddys. He was much cleaner and precise. His phrasing was masterful. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't play anymore. Being a top rated guitarist came VERY easy to him.

                              You can say that again!! I remember seeing White Lion open for Ted Nugent and VITO smoked........
