Re: NEED SOME INFO ON VITO BRATTA OF WHITE LION

I respectfully disagree with you guys about Tramp. I like his voice and saw him a few months, still sounds good, isnt 75 lbs overweight like most guys from back in the day and his guitarist did a killer job with the material, even doing the solo's note for note and same style(horns wouldve been proud). He was a cool guy and was still chasing the "chicks", which was funny to watch.I like white lion alot and i dont care if you guys dont.I dont own 6000 cds, but i dont care about being underground anymore.I like good songs, singers that can sing and people having fun.Oh yeah, and great guitar playing as well.Vito was great, and was fun to listen to as well.

I have those 3 White Lion cds with the rest of the 5,973..

But I never liked Mike Tramp...the only thing I like about WL is Vito...

but that was a bunch of bands with awesome guitarist like Autograh..with Steve Lynch..that dude was a monster..and Winger w / Reb

but I didn't care for the music or the vocals...just the guitars..

There were so many great guitar albums with lame vocals..Keel , Steeler , Shotgun Messiah / Dokken (whines) ..I want to say Ratt...because I do NOT like Stephen Piercy whatsoever..Howe II with Greg Howe..the list is endless..and ultimately some would say King Diamond...I love him now..but not back then.

Just like a lot of AOR stuff on that Frontiers label...all great guitarists but their music sounds like Bon Jovi and all that other 80's gay shit....well like Bon Jovi..

Thats funny because i like lot of the stuff on the frontiers label I like aor stuff.

My first band was called V.D. (Violent Degenerates) and we played death metal before it was known as that(1987-1990)Opened for Sepultura, faith or fear, laaz rocket ect...I cant stand the cookie monster vocals for that style of music, but i dig the music alot.So i understand where your coming from. But as i get older, i cant just shut out the parts i dont like, so i dont listen to it much these days.Ill put on some old metal church, testament but death, cannibal corpse ect.. does nothing for me.Its extreme for extreme sakes, which is why i got the vaccine to get rid of v.d ( our fan club was called the V.D. clinic)

Re: NEED SOME INFO ON VITO BRATTA OF WHITE LION

I like both my favorite "Froniers" aumni players are Ralf Santolla ( Millenium) and Magnus Carlsson ( Midnight Sun , Last Tribe)..

I like those guys so much that I overlook what I don't care for...the AOR format.

I appreciate and love true talent whether in comes in AOR , Death metal , Black Metal. etc.

there is some , Death and Black Metal musicians that are just incredible..so I overlooked what I didn't care for there as well...until it grew on me..

some playing and music can't be denied no matter what vocal style..

I think aggressive metal should have aggressive vocals..

I can't see Halford , Dio , Tate fronting a band like Soilwork...and I couldn't see Alexi Laiho or Chuck Billy fronting Dream Theatre..

Well, even though I don't like Tramp, I can listen to White Lion because the tunes were catchy and the guitar playing amazing. Same with Dokken. I LOVE Dokken, but I don't love Don. Still, it was the '80s, I was a teenager and it was all fun as hell. I remember seeing Poison open for DLR. Hilarious. When DLR covered "Ain't Talking 'Bout Love", Vai played the hole song with the guitar laying flat on the ground, he sat next to it...

I saw that...I was there...he also played the solo to "On fire" with one hand behind his back...just pull offs...but it sounded perfect..

The Little Fighter solo still stacks up as one of the most melodic solos I've ever heard.

I'm with you guys; Vito was awesome, Tramp was mediocre.

in the "when the children cry" video, vito plays the solo on a esp strat. 3 single coils.

man that solo is awesome, vito's solo's to me are like catchier, more melodic, more passionate EVH

Yeah, he was laughing and making faces when he was playing "Ain't Talkin'"...he was clearly making fun of EVH. It was still actually quite humurous.

Where did you see the show? I saw it at the Capital Center in Maryland.

BTW, I meant the "whole" solo when I posted...not the "hole" solo!!

Yep..and he ALWAYS injected a little "Eruption" in his solo...

                        I don't know if it was a "shot" to a ED...or a tribute...or both..

BTW...The KING of melodic solos oozing with feeling , it could give ya the shits ...ULI ROTH!!

Solo like Sails Of Charon , So Many Lifes away..the list is endless..and he only gets better with age.

Fuck it , he deserves his own thread , I'm starting one...

                        I'm outta here!

BTW Those Steinburgers worked for Vito...but I played a couple back then and thought they sounded pretty horrible..and felt awkward for some reason....but I always did like Parker Flys.
