Re: Charvel Strathead appearance in Slipknot\'s vid
Thanks for posting the pic Rob. That looks really nice (kind of like Scotti Hill's custom Fender), but surely for what Slipknot do, that'd have to be a hardtail?....
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get
Re: Charvel Strathead appearance in Slipknot\'s vid
I wouldn't be surprised if Fender gave temporary priviliges, in the form of allowing their s-head to be used one-off on a Charvel. In an attempt to get another seriously high-market moneyroller in.

It is probaly like the EVH series, has the original strathead but says on the back that it is liscensed by fender blah blah blah, if you want to see it look at this thread. http://www.jcfonline.com/ubbthreads/...&page=0#454193
Re: Charvel Strathead appearance in Slipknot\'s vid
Yup, definitly a possibility! Didn't know about that EVH series. (Beautiful guitar btw!)
FMIC would basically be opening the door to masses of angsty teens that worship Slipknot. I wonder how many of them will put aside their BC Rich knock-offs and pick up a Charvel-style strathead.
Re: Charvel Strathead appearance in Slipknot\'s vid
there's a relatively recent Guitar World that talks about his Charvel, that was apparently made by Alex Perez, Fender's Artist Relations guy (who can make customs for his artists, from what i hear).

my guess is probably very few, as most kids wouldn't be able to afford one.

yea, but wait 10-20 years when the Slipknot kiddies are all growed up and can now afford the cool guitars of their youth.....
there'll be even less to go around because they didn't release a strathead Charvel like Root's at the time and they'll have to go after the older SD guitars.

Yup! Just look at this forum, everyone wants their dream guitars from their youth. You summed it up perfectly G!
Re: Charvel Strathead appearance in Slipknot\'s vid
you know if fender owns charvel now, they should just go back to the regular strat head on all there guitars and put the little notice on the back. I dont think it would take away from there fender sales, when you think about it people that play fender and people that play charvels are two different breeds of people.

Wow, black string-thru Warrior with body binding, I think Joel Drabicki will cream his pants when he sees that pic.
Re: Charvel Strathead appearance in Slipknot\'s video
I read in Guitar World that he is really into Custom built Fenders. He is a Telecaster nut and collects them. He has been a Jackson 'endorsee' so it makes sense for him to go to the new revamped Charvel line. They have more of that fender feel in my opinion.
