I remember that article. A Fender signature guitar for him was in the works but he said that now that wasn't going to happen. Who knows. Maybe a Charvel signature is now in the works.

I just watched the video. Not only did I like it, but wow I loved all the guitars.
At first I thought the red axe was that Charvel too. But it seems that it wasn't. Now I really want the black Charvel but in that Ibanez dark red... mmmmmmmh...
So what is it? You guys think it's a custom made San Dimas? The headstock does seem quite Fender-ish to me.
Do Fender make a pickguard less Strat with two humbuckers in this Dark Red color or in black? :P It sure could be a cheaper alternative...

You guys, don't rack your brains too hard trying to figure it out. Root stated in an article I read that he was having a Custom SD Charvel built for him. I'm sure it was made exactly to his specs and any licensing issues or whatever were taken care of prior.
On another note, I used to play in a band down in Des Moines, opposite of Root's band, Atomic Opera back in the early 90's. He used strictly Jacksons and Charvels back then. I remember he had a black Dinky Reverse Pro with a maple neck, another cobalt blue DRP with a Rosewood neck and a couple of model Charvels. He used a Boogie 50 cal. exclusively and just had killer tone every time I saw him. I accredit that more to the player though. This guy was a monster guitar player back then and I don't think he was much older than 21. I hung out with him a few times. Seemed like an ok guy. It's cool to see someone that you actually know get signed and mentioned on an international forum.

I used to like slipknot back in the day before i got into death metal and shred stuff, but after I watched the line 6 spider video with mick playing i wish he would start a death metal band because that last thing called "snarl" killed and i hate slipknot. also the neoclassical shred part was amazing too...
