• Sweet Mick Mars guitar solo

I hope this link works still. I found this out on the web.

It's a live in concert guitar solo, pretty cool, he has a rack of lap steel guitars on stage that he plays.

nice little find, to be honest i have always been a huge motley fan, but mick's slow soloing is so much better then when he tries to shred! He is a great bluesy feel type player.

OK, I thought that sucked. While I like Mars' studio work, most of that solo was just noise to me. Even the blues oriented stuff at the end was weak, and I am a blues fanatic.

Of course, he must be doing something right...he has the cash, cars, chicks, houses and the all that rock star stuff.

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

Isn't that clip from the Dr. Feelgood tour? I've seen the Crue live twice. The Girls and Feelgood tours. They sucked both times. I love their studio work, but it must be Vince and his singing every other or every third word of the lyrics. I'd like to hear the damn song, please!

They need a real singer again... like John Corabi!

You're right, Vince can damn near ruin a show by getting too caught up in the showmanship, and forgetting about the show. With that being said, I saw the Crue in Greenville, SC this past February, and they kicked ass! Vince even did a hell of a job actually singing the songs. Hell, he even nailed most of the words to Shout at the Devil, which I normally absolutly hate to hear live only because Vince butchers the song.

I'm taking the wife to see them again in Charlotte, NC in August. Hands down they played one of the best shows I've ever been to when I saw them earlier this year. Hope the Charlotte show is half as good. By the way, I saw them on the Generation Swine tour back in '96?, and was not impressed with that show at all.

Oh Boy...sorry but Mick Mars and awesome...doesn't seem to fit in the same sentence with me..

I think the guy blows to be honest ...as a lead player...he wrote some catchy tunes though..

I can only say someone "blows" if "I" know I can smoke em...otherwise I have no room to comment or talk..

If i want awesome guitar solos..Mick Mars is probably the last person I think of...besides Eric Clapton..

The best guitarist Vince Neil EVER worked with was Steve Stevens...if you want AWESOME solos...get the Vince Neil "exposed" album...and let Stevens do the talkin'..

                      Again, we agree, Bill.

However, I will say that Clapton's solo on "Forever Man" is one of my favorites. The tone is awesome, and it is fun to play to boot.

Ah depends on what you consider awesome, i prefer slow more melodic solo's. Yeah alot of other guitarists may be able to play solo's super fast, tap etc... but i think they sound like shit because they have no soul.

well I don't really care about speed for the sake of speed...but the dude is friggin' tone deaf...he plays more sour notes than Jimmy Page with a case of JD..

seriously Mick can write a catchy , cool little ditty...and that is an artform in itself...but he is NO shredder by any stretch...not even a little bit..

he's tone deaf...he always goes sharp or flat...slow or fast...man , he's pathtic when he tries to play fast...it's all on record...I'm not making this up..

Hendrix..he wasn't fast but he played with feel , ear , heart and emotion...to me he was a shredder!

and I must put Clapton over Mick...and I'm no fan of Clapton in the slightest..

well...I am a fan of Mick because he did write some cool , memorable riffage..

but to say his lead playing is "awesome"...in a infinite sea of true "awesome" virtuocity...well it's silly I thinks..
