I just saw Poppa Chubby play at a local bar here in NY. What a monster player...great tone too......Any of you guys into him? This is the first time I saw/ heard him play.

No he was playing two fender strats....appear to be 66 strats or 66 relic strats....If anyone is into SRV / Robben Ford ...he is worth checking out.Comment

I am weened on the likes of players such as Magnus Karlsson , Olaf Lenk , Ralph Santolla , Roy Z , Jeff Loomis , Frank Marino , Uli Roth..nothing but the finest players in the genre.

ohhhhh you are in for a REAL treat!!! Olaf Lenk is in a German Band called At Vance...he is a Heroe amoung other heroes such as Joe Stump...Joe worships him too (we spoke for almost an hour about it)....total Neo - classical power metal...like old rising Force...but I like it better because the song writing is better and he is very fluid and polished ..it's sick!
Magnus Karlsson if originally from Midnight Sun ...TRULY a gifted virtuoso...he's also in Last Tribe ...musically a little light for my taste but his playing is so exceptional..I'm mesmerized by his playing...it's THAT good..he just did a thing with Tony Harnell (TNT) ...sounds like TNT to be honest..
Roy Z is a tone guru and a major heavyweight...he is the backbone to both Halford solo albums and all of Bruce Dickison's solo stuff..like Chemical Wedding...he's got his shit together!
Ralph Santolla is in a melodic hard rock band called Millenium...a bit like old Rainbow / Rising Force and a bit ballady like Journey..very AOR....but his playing is polished..he also played with Chuck of Death and toured with Iced Earth..
You remember my greatest guitarist of all time list...I know them all that is worth half a shit....this is what I do...I'm obsessed with this stuff for almost 30 years.. [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]
When "I" say somebody is great ...you can bet your ass they are truly amoung the very ELITE!!
