Queensryche died back in 90-91....much like Metallica did to me..RIP muthafuckas..

I have no use for either of 'em to be honest...too many other bands that "took hold of the flame"...and ran with it...and kept on runnin'..

Queensryche haven't took hold of their own flame since Empire..unless "flame" meaning..."gay".

I guess I'm hardcore--I actually thought Empire was a bit of a letdown after the brilliance that was Mindcrime. Plus, I got sick of hearing the Empire songs on the radio after awhile. But I was on the Ryche train pretty much from the beginning. Being a Seattle band, the songs from the EP got played a LOT on the radio in Portland, Oregon, where I grew up, and I bought that one as soon as I could.

I'm curious to see what they do with Mindcrime II. I didn't see Mindcrime as begging for a sequel.

I kinda with you, pro-fusion. Empire has good songs on it but they aren't the radio ones. I got sick of hearing Silent Lucidity and Jet City Woman. Best I Can is a great song. But I think they peaked with Mindcrime. Like I said, I haven't even listened to anything after Empire.

well Geoff never was a metal head. He didn't care about metal at the first place. I can't blame him because of that. His solo album is pure AOR. He joined Queensryche because Chris had some really cool and unique ideas.

I saw them in 83 they opened up for Quiet Riot and Whitesnake(John Sykes era).It cost $10.25.How times have changed.To me they haven't topped Operation Mindcrime IMO. I recently found the dvd Operation Livecrime"ESP ad" for about $4 at a pawn shop,killer score.

There is NOT a single saving grace of a moment anywhere to be found on that pathtic piece of dung...he sings like shit on it...and the music..is NOT AOR...it is New Age , elevator crap...or something like that...I can't say what kind of "music" you call it...but all I can say is is NOT good in any way , shape or form..it will be forever a $1 bin cut out...and that is where it belongs..just like all the latter QR crap...I can buy all those cds for a buck a piece anyday of the week...not kidding...along with St Anger..

Anyway, all those post-Empire albums are by far better than the new Dream Theater's album wich is totally gay.
