Must be a groove in the neck where his thumb rests that prevents him from leaving those 4 frets. I don't know if that was improvised or if he actually sat down and wrote it. If it's the latter, that's got to be the most pathetic tribute tune ever written.
My future band shall be known as "One Samich Short Of A Picnic"!

After reading all the comments and then watching the video, I was expecting something absolutely terrible. Honestly, it wasn't that bad. I've heard much, MUCH worse (see Korn's albums).

He was a guitar player in a crappy nu-metal band, what did you guys expect? For him to come out and start ripping it up like Vai or something? Think of it this way... At least he didn't rewrite some terrible Korn song with lyrics about how Diamond Darrel was such a genius and how it was such a tragedy.

Oh my goodness.... I just made a post defending Brian Welch formerly of Korn. I'm going to go take a shower.

..at least his playing was in key and his bends in tune.
half this crowd would slay Clapton...Clapton probably wouldn't give a rip.

Well, yeah...he didn't move out of one penatonic box!!

The bends were marginal, they were all pretty quickly executed...there was just no emotion. It really was like someone just learned the pentatonic scale and wrote their first blues tune.

I'm sorry, but the fact that this guy gets paid to play guitar offends me. Really.

Uh, No they aren't, he is not in tune at all, and he dosen't follow the key of the piano at all.

Re: Cool Doubleneck. Embarrasing Playing.

that is fine, you can be offended.. I kinda feel that way about BB King sometimes or Neil Young-hasn't stopped them from being able to make a living in the world of music. I've never bought anything or was a fan of Korn in the first place.

Objective to what you said tho.. he does move out of one penta tonic box into the octive...and his bends were more than marginal.. some were actually held for a few seconds.

Still doesn't mean I thought it was great-gonna run out and buy Brain Welsh solo CD.
I really am not sure if playing music is his major breadticket anymore anyways.

I guess it makes a statement about numetal making its success on..well, I'm not sure what it makes it success upon...bouncing up and down?

no there aren't? aren't what? eh?
I think you are tone deaf. There is one section he is off and there is some dissonance, but yeah.. whatever.

Charvel Guy, I know what you mean, I meant "They" as both your points. I've tried to live my life by never bagging on anybody's playing. But that was justlike I said EMBARASSING! I would have loved to hear what Zakk played after picking up the guitar for the first time after Dime passed. That might have been the most emotionaly intense playing ever......

First of all, if BB King offends you, I can't understand that for a minute. BB King is a legend, and for good reason...he kills. He can do more with two notes than most guys can do with 50. I have seen BB up close and personal, and he is amazing. Want to talk about tone and vibrato...BB is a monster in both departments.

Neil Young, OK...catch my comment way up above. He is a shit guitar player, but he can write great songs. Again, Neil probably left more talent in the toilet last night than Head has in his entire body.

And yes, I know it is the PENTATONIC scale. I don't need the spelling lesson every time I drop a letter by accident. And by the way, it is spelled OCTAVE, Webster.
