That whole 80's scene was awesome, I wish I could've been part of it. Doing originals now sucks... empty houses, VERY few women. There is a local band that does a full two and a half hour set of 80's cover tunes and they play all the great bars, pack the place, make a ton of $$$, and chicks go nuts over them (the guys are geeks too!). Part of their set is a long medley of all the "hair" stuff... Poison, Dokken, Ratt, QR, etc. It goes over great. I'm tempted to put a 80's cover band together just for the "tail" factor alone.

Why does all music have to be rocket science. Give me a rockin' tune with a catchy hook over that shredder math rock any day.

Poison is a fun band, plain and simple. CC wrote some great tunes, and they are still doing it well. If you get a chance to catch that private poison show that they show on VH1 classic, check it out. CC's playing is so over the top and ballsy. Good stuff! [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]

Bill - Poison's not on the top of my list. I've never owned any of their records. BUT (there's always a but), there are far worse atrocities out there than Poison. For example: Def Leppard, Warrant, White Lion, Kurt "Boom Boom" Cobain, Pearl Jam, Limp Bisquick, Blink 182, Nickelback, Santana, The Who - fuck, I could go on all night. CC was a cool dude who played Chuck Berry licks really fucking loud - that gets him my respect [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

The best Poison song is Talk Dirty, followed by I Won't Forget You. Talk Dirty has the best hook..although Fallen Angel has a killer hook in the beginning as well.
