Well, it's been said many times already, but I'll say it again because it matters so much: CC, Poison, and many other "hair" bands were cool becuase their music was FUN!!! Look through the glam, and listen to the music. It was all good.

That music was cool, catchy, and got chicks horny. The fact that their tunes were "hum-able" is especially important, as you were a teenager then and the drunk chick suckin' your c**k could hum right along to the tune.

I didn't live the life on the strip or the road like Chuckles and Sully. I was the high school dude who dreamed of such things while wanking away in my bedroom or with garage bands. But I nonetheless lived the 80s and remember them well. Good times. That was what it was all about. And the music reflected it. 'nuff said.

Couldn't have said it better myself, although I did actually say it a couple times way up there.

The '80s were great, and I miss them.

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

+1 the 80's were a time that we may never see again. People can make fun of the dress, the finances, the hair music, or whatever, but it boils down to this:

If you were dirt poor, living in the gutter, had to fuck the ugly chicks for food and coke, stunk, were dirty, drunk all the time, and didn't contribute to society at all, and the only thing you owned was a guitar with 9 month old strings, today, you would be a vagrant, in the 80's, you were a god! John and Sully, you are still my idols!

If someone told you that you were going to get signed, but you had to play in a shitty band that everyone suposedly hated, but bought your records, you would have to beat off blazing hot chicks with a stick for the rest of your life, were going to make millions of dollars, and still create this much heated discution 20 years later, would you do it?

Don't say no, because everyone would know you were a poser if you do!

And don't forget, the hair, the makeup, the clothes, etc. were normal for the time. In twenty years it is very posible that the guys with tatoos, peircings, bald heads and goatees will be "gay" (but I really fuckin hope not).

CC, Brett and the rest of them, both in Poisen and others partied thier asses off. I did the same thing in the 80's, but I didn't get paid for it. Not a bad job title if you ask me "Rock Star."

Damn, I wish the 80's were back!

I think CC is dead. No loss. The Priest is back and that is all that counts.

I agree with the rest of your statements but this is just The make-up, the clothes, the hair of 80s is considered gay because it replicates what women do. Now if you are arguing that women will be bald and have extreme amounts of facial hair in 20 years, that I sure fucking hope not either. Tatoos and piercings are have always been a uni-sex phenomenon anyways.

That is an extreme analogy. I was just trying to point out that they had that appearance because the record companies told them to. Society in reality dictated the fashion. They did it to be different and get noticed, and it worked. It was accepted though back then. It was an excessive and decadent time, and the fashion reflected that. This is a dark and angry time, and the fashion reflects that. I am just as angry as the next guy, and my appearance reflects that. I am mostly angry that the 80's are over with.

Anyone see the Guitar Player with the 100 worst solos of all time?? They had a special rating for anything that had to do with CC...Can you imagine how Warrant felt when the record co. said "Yeah, great song...Great album....We're gonna have CC solo on this song,though...You've been working hard,guys...Tell you what...Here's 20 bucks..Why don't you guys go to Hooters and get some hotwings..."

In all actuality,I saw Poison open for Quiet Riot in '86.I gave Brett my beer( I was only 17 at the time),and got to go back stage after their show.Met CC(he actually tripped that night and knocked his stack over when he fell into it and the head popped him one upside his, roadie had to pick him up and put his amp back up)and Brett(Bobby and Ricky were already enjoying the tour babes).T
Bon Jovi is like a frozen Coca Cola.. It's cool, it's crunchy, but when all is said and done it is still pop....

They were actually pretty cool guys...But nothing tops seeing King Kobra and Kiss on Easter Sunday in a 5,000 seat venue..Met Mick Sweda, got back stage, played his pointy star(yes, the one Brett now has),and got Carmine's auto for my Dad...Jonny Rod was killer..Great guy..Mark Free was cool..had no clue about the Marcy thing until about 3 months ago....ok ok ok enough rambling...my main point...Has CC done anything valid (with or) without Poison? No,not really...I think the record company was just looking for an East Coast Motley Crue, but without the legal expenses...
