Re: Bring on the Flaming, why doesnt anyone like C
[ QUOTE ]
Almost all of the first albulm Mike, i think.
Also, I think CC was the only east coast member of Poison.
He had a band called the "step sisters" and they actually got some radio play in Dallas a few years ago. Right before the "reunion tour"....
[/ QUOTE ]
I thought that all of Poison, with the exception of CC, were from Pennsylvania? CC was a NYer, I know that. However, I thought the rest came from Pennsylvania.
I had no idea that CC played solos on the first Warrant record. Man, that is too funny.

Thanks sully,
CC is from Brooklyn...
I thought they were west coasters. oh well aint the first time I have been wrong
I guess I have the solo thing wrong too.
Stepmothers, step sisters, I was close. And it was under Samantha 7 that they did the song that got radio play right Sully? It was on the Eagle, wasnt it?

CC may have originally been from new york, I'm really not sure, but I know that my exwife was friends with them when they were young upstarts, and went to CC's brother's wedding. They were in california at the time, so since his brother was living there, I assumed that they were from there. However, I've also heard the story that CC studied music at NYU, or was going to, but didn't.
Yeah, Samantha 7 is the name of the band that put the album out.
Re: Bring on the Flaming, why doesnt anyone like C
Anyone who has ever heard CC speak knows he is a NYer. I am pretty sure that the rest of the guys were from Pennsylvania. They packed it up and headed to LA. Ricki was a makeup artist and hair stylist prior to the leave (big shock). I forget what Bobby Dahl and Brett did. CC claims that he studied at Juliard under Perlman. Who knows? CC is a bit flamboyant to say the least...he may have been full of shit.
Can you imagine being the Warrant guys and they bring in CC Deville to solo on your records? OK, if you read all of my comments you know that I am down with CC. However, I would feel really poor if the record company thought I sucked so badly that they had to bring in CC to cut my solos. Its not like they got Vai to come in an cut some solos...they got CC!!! And don't forget the CC Deville Experience...his project prior to Samantha 7.
But really, if you had to pick some guy to party with from the era...who would you pick? I would pick, hands down, CC Deville. He was loud, obnoxious...had tons of cash. You know he was the nut case type that would do anything over the top to get attention...or get a girl. He could singlehandedly deplete Colombia for a week, he had that NY attitude. It must have been a freakfest.

Re: Bring on the Flaming, why doesnt anyone like C
Damn, I don't understand why the fuck didn't the engineer put any delay on the Cherry Pie's solos, that dry sound ruins everything, altho the songs is badass.

Re: Bring on the Flaming, why doesnt anyone like C
he said in an interview that he got his training from "pearlman" (sp?) or some other guru. And I read somewhere else that that person spoke very highly of CC and considered him to be one of his finest students. CC also said the guys is prolly rolling over in his grave over what CC did with his training..
Re: Bring on the Flaming, why doesnt anyone like C
yeah, but the thing is that itzhak perlman (the guys he refers to in the story) is a violinist. it's an old story, but i dunno, i kinda doubt that one.
what do i do in dallas? eh, as little as i can, really.

Are the boards you "job" or do you do this just as a gift to us...
I lived in the big D until two years ago when my first wife passed away. I hated it there, but stayed because that where she was from and she didnt wanna move.
