Just saw Priest last night at the Nissan Pavillion in Virginia. What happened, you ask? They absolutely fukkin' tore the place apart. One of the best shows I've ever seen. They were way tighter and more aggressive than at Ozzfest last year. "Painkiller" was one of the most brutal performances I've ever seen by anyone.
And just for the record, they played five songs from the new album, which kicked ass--sat very nicely with the old material, as well. This is a must-see show.

+1 I saw them too and they KILLED. Tight and full of agression. It was the best I have ever seen them and I have been going to Priest concerts since they opened up for Kiss in 1976.
Unleashed in the East was always one of my faves.I liked those live versions of songs better than the originals.Tyrant really inspired me when I first wanted to play. That whole album actually.British Steel and Screaming for Vengeance also made me skip school and go listen to preist.Drank massive amounts of alcohol and many bong hits listening to those albums...(Ahem)...Dont smkoe no more tho.

I was there as well as noodles and jwoods, it was a great show, i remember them last year from ozzfest where they also put on a kick ass show and had to go back this year. Queensryche was good too, but they played too much older material that most people do not know and only played one from mindcrime and one from empire.
second, defenders, british, screaming, painkiller, ram it down and so on are all great albums.
third, Scott IS what Judas needed, he can mach in his drums tha killer axe work of Judas. You cannot have a metal band with a jazz drummer, u need metal with metal.
I also saw them last night in VA, got to meet siggy and noodles in person. It was a great show, nice selection of material from old to new. I only counted 4 from the new album - Judas Rising, Deal With the Devil, Revolution, and Hellrider. They rocked the place!!
Queensryche were really good, I was surprised at the amount of older songs they did too. A lot from Rage for Order, which was fine by me I love that album. The only thing that sucked was they were supposed to start at 7:30 and we were walking toward the pavillion at 7:25 and they were playing Enforcer already. I asked a guy if it was the first song and he said it was the second, so I have no idea what they opened with. Anyone?
I wasn't seated when the QR opener started, and I can't remember what it was. I wasn't thrilled about having so much Rage for Order material, since I'm not as familiar with that album. Would have liked a couple of more Mindcrime songs. What did you think of the new Mindcrime II song they played? I thought it was so-so.
Didn't JP play Wheels of Fire from the new album, also? Maybe I'm just getting forgetful in my approaching old age.
As much as I like the RFO stuff, I would have gladly traded some Rage tunes for more Mindcrime. I thought the Mindcrime II song was just ok also. I liked the song from Tribe (don't know the name) and the other newer song (maybe from Tribe also) was good too.
I'm pretty sure they didn't do Wheels of Fire, but now you have me second-guessing.
