Zakk Cancelled...AGAIN!

The doors of the Manchester gig were supposed to open at 7.30pm, but the band told the venue that it was cancelled at 6.45pm. It was fairly obvious this was true because of amount of venue staff present that were just moping around!! [img]/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]

I would say fair enough if there was a serious / honest reason to cancel a gig, but this is the third I have heard of in the last couple of weeks (Copenhagen / Bradford). Rumour has it the band recieved threats from a UK Biker gang, but the most ridicoulous rumours start at these things.

Was looking forward to this one more than most, as its pretty rare for him to get out of the US. Dunno if i'd waste my time to go and buy another ticket for him if he toured again! [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

That sucks bro. I hear he's been going through some crap on his own, so that might be one reason. Other is maybe the promoters just suck, there was an issue with the other cancelled show with that. I'd say sleep on it and see what they say about it, but go out and check em out when they hit your town up next time round. It's definatly worth it

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY were reportedly forced to cancel their scheduled gig in Manchester, England Saturday night (June 18) after a local biker club, Sons of Hell, allegedly complained that the group's back design is too similar to their own. A BLABBERMOUTH.NET reader, Will from Manchester, wrote, "They [Sons of Hell] were telling people to cover up, take off, or turn inside out their BLACK LABEL shirts, and anybody with a band shirt on that was black and white. They then continued to beat people up who didn't, ripping shirts off. I saw at least three ambulances. It's really bad, I was looking forward to [the gig]. It was all a logo issue apparently. They had an issue with the BLACK LABEL logo being similar to theirs, and in their colours." Another BLABBERMOUTH.NET visitor who went to the venue wrote, "They threatened event staff and fans. The gig was cancelled for safety of all involved."

That sucks for everybody! BTW, doesn't this story sound strangely reminiscent of the Simpson's episode where Homer names his biker gang the same as another's and they trash their home?!

That's a bit like the Hell's Angels rolling into the Rolling Stones' 69 SF gig and taking over the joint, albeit for 'security', they pretty much called the shots.

Wouldn't it be funny if a whole bunch of pissed-off BLS fans went and beat the living tar out of these bikers??? I know bikers take their logos pretty seriously, but geez, how much of an asswipe do you have to be to force a gig cancellation over it? It's not like a rival biker club trying to take territory or something.

It also probably has to do with the fact that outlaw biker types don't really care for the new wave of Harley enthusiasts and kinda view them as "posers"
