Re: Zakk Cancelled...AGAIN!

I honestly think that blabbermouth story posted above is complete rubbish. I was there at 7pm (doors at 7.30), everyone was just hanging around outside the venue. If people were being threatened and being taken away in ambulances due to a metal concert, the police would be all over it in a flash. But there was no sign of them, and people wouldnt be waiting around if they were at risk.

I spoke to one of the upper-level venue staff asking why it was cancelled, she said the band called at 6.45 saying its off. The band may have been threatened, but i did not see any of the crowd have any problems, everyone was gutted but it was peaceful, infact many of us just went inside for beer and pool. Maybe it happened before i got there, but there would have been signs of gangs threatening the crowd in some form. I smell bull Sh1t!!

They'll have to keep cancelling shows til Zak meets their leader in the Circle of Death!

Re: Zakk Cancelled...AGAIN!

Seems rediculous but who knows. While I do like Zakk and BLS, their tough, biker image is a bit tarnished, time for a new gimmick.

And what kind of biker gang picks on kids?

Re: Zakk Cancelled...AGAIN!

Cancelling 45 minutes before a show, wow, that would blow. I assume they had a warmup act tho. After the whole Dime thing.. I think any band who got wind of a threat either of killing or violence in a venue this size would have to take it seriously. It seems the whole "will this effect shows" talk is coming to reality, and that Zakk was deeply effected by Dimes killing likely to the point where this stuff is starting to occur.

That sucks... that's probably why they ended up filming the Paris show... I thought I had read a statement saying they were to film the Manchester show... maybe the bikers threatened them already. Whatever the reason it sucks...
Anyhow, the Paris show was KILLER. THE show of the year for me, better than Testament, better than Strapping Young Lad, better than Yyrkoon too... \m/

From Blabbermouth:

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY Cancel Manchester Gig Over Biker Threats - June 19, 2005
BLACK LABEL SOCIETY were reportedly forced to cancel their scheduled gig in Manchester, England Saturday night (June 18) after a local biker club, Sons of Hell, allegedly complained that the group's back design is too similar to their own. A BLABBERMOUTH.NET reader, Will from Manchester, wrote, "They [Sons of Hell] were telling people to cover up, take off, or turn inside out their BLACK LABEL shirts, and anybody with a band shirt on that was black and white. They then continued to beat people up who didn't, ripping shirts off. I saw at least three ambulances. It's really bad, I was looking forward to [the gig]. It was all a logo issue apparently. They had an issue with the BLACK LABEL logo being similar to theirs, and in their colours." Another BLABBERMOUTH.NET visitor who went to the venue wrote, "They threatened event staff and fans. The gig was cancelled for safety of all involved."
