Re: Jackson A&R improving?
We? Who's "we"? You speaking French over there?
While I do admire Jackson's "founding philosophy" of "we don't pay 'em, they just play 'em", there's a lot to be said for market saturation.
Then again, Xeno's got an excellent point. How many PRSs were sold due to Creed/Tremonti? How many of those ended up on Ebay or in a closet or passed onto another family member/friend that actually played when Creed went out of style? Or even a week after the guitar was bought?
Even Santana sold a few, but to the same bunch that buys EVH Art Series models - older noodlers with disposable income.
Jackson probably won't be all over the TV and the players won't be all over the Top radio stations, but they have a secure enough foothold in not only Metal, but there's that one guy that has a PC-1 that plays for the Grand Ole Opry and some C&W stars, and players always hang out with players, so I'm sure the word gets out there.
Heck, the Jazz'R I got from Brad a while back was owned by two Bluegrass players who raved about the look and tone, but the neck backshape set off their arthritis, so they dumped it.
One simple change could get Jazz'Rs in the hands of major C&W players once the word of mouth and a few well-placed ads got out.
