This year, day one consisted mainly of coverbands. The main acts were: Rubber Soul, Aultimate Ozzy, Hollywood Allstarz, and had Jackyl closing.
Rubber Soul: They were a Beatles coverband. I'm not too much of a Beatles fan, but played much of the Beatles' song library spot on. Good show for the older crowd.
Aultimate Ozzy: Pretty damn good for a coverband. Most of the songs played were from "Sold our Souls for Rock and Roll" and "The Ozzman Cometh" albums. Great stage presence. The guitarist had a LP studio with a black and gold bulls-eye paint job and an rx10d w/ polka dots.
Hollywood Allstarz: Excellent, excellent band. Though they mainly played cover songs from Quiet Riot and Zeppelin, they rocked the house hard. Kept the crowd into it and were loving it. They had two drummers though, which was a little odd. The guitarist had two USA jacksons: an sl2 w/ blue ghost flames, and a custom soloist. The soloist looked to be a candy-apple green w/ ebony fretboard and the dk2FF inlays.
Jackyl: Rocked the F'in house hard. Even though the power went out four times in the first three songs, they kept the show going by singing the oscar meyer theme song. They played an awesome set consisting of "Dirty Little Mind", "Secret of the Bottle", "Chainsaw" and about 9 others that the liqour kept me from remembering. Best band of the night.
All in All, definately a kick ass show for anybody who happened to go.
