• George Lynch in Portland - playing a ..........

    Vintage Telecaster

    and his pedal board...

The show was KILLER. Lynch was on it from the first note. Played the Tele for the entire gig, except for the last two songs Breaking the Chains with a Les Paul, and Tooth and Nail with the Bones ESP. Played everything through a 72' Marshall SLP...Nothing like paying $10 to stand 3 feet from a guitar hero...class was in session

Actually, that's a Fender Esquire (single pickup version of Telecaster)--and a very old one, by the looks of it. Probably worth a zillion bucks.

i love it, he is so into building his body and then polutes his system with cig's! Kinda odd him playing a tele all night, but that thing looks old or well played. As to the amp set up, i do not recognize any of those pedals on his board, what was he using to push the amp, unless it was a heavy modified SLP. Last time i saw him he was using Bogner Ubers.

                George doesn't play stock anything.
I am sure the amp is highly modded as are the pedals.

Yeah, he talks about that Esquire on his webpage. He apparently really loves it, because the ancient original pickup is basically fused into the guitar....low output, let's the amps do all the work.

You lucky bastard...I wish I could have seen that.

I did see Eric Johnson that close back in '90.

p.s. I am seeing a return of the Lynch Skunk??
Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

Great pics, thanks! Yeah, the only thing I recognize on that board is the Budda wah. What's up with the cig? I thought he was all mr. healthy, working out dude now?

That rocks, I love the pic of George with the cig

I was that close at a Lynch Mob show a few years ago. It was Armored Saint, Lynch Mob, and Dio (Armored Saint stole the show BTW). After Lynch Mob, George walked around the club hanging out and talking to fans. George is awesome

George played that Esquire almost all of NAMM weekend. He had a piece of paper with ESP written on it over the logo.

Steve, I was there as well. I agree, great show - 10 bucks... smoking deal. After Mr. Scary I stepped back from the stage (I was front and center at the little wooden step. So, I probably rubbed elbows wit' ya), and heard it from the P.A. perspective. Didn't really care for the tone all that much until he swapped out for the Skull, but that's just my own preference.

I gambled and figured since it was a small venue I might get George to sign my MIJ Dinky. Which he did, right behind the headstock!! That totally made my month.

What did you think about "Last Empire?" I was really impressed. I went to CD Baby and ordered their CD.
