I think the concert was filmed here in Denver at the Fillmore back in 1999. They had a huge video crew filming that night and nver released the stuff because Marty bailed a few months later.Its from the risk tour.I'd like to see it but megadeth is getting to be much too much like Iron Maiden, releaseing a live album, then a best of, then a collectors cd, then a live, then a best of, then a worst of , fuck, new music please? thank you!

Megadeth has always just been Dave Mustaine + 3 guys. David Ellefson wasnt even the first bassist, and he was in the band longest (other than Mustaine)

The funniest thing I've ever heard from Mr Mustaine was when I was chatting with him (years ago) and he told me how Marty looked like when he first joined (after the Cacophony days)...he said Marty looked like a big black poodle [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Ellefson was the first bassist. Dave's apartment was above Ellefson's, and Elf would come by and ask if he could help them buy beer (since he and his buddy were 18).
While Mustaine may have auditioned other bassists before settling on Junior, all that matters is who made it to the first record, and that was Dave Ellefson.

Seriously, though, Dave is just being Dave, trash talking the old guys because all the old fans want the old guys back, and post it all over Dave's own message board.

Having seen them live the last time they came through, I have to stick up for the bassist. He is way better than Ellefson, but I don't think anyone ever mistook Junior for an amazing bassist. Shawn Drover may be a better drummer than Jimmy Degraso, but he's missing Nick's fire.

I don't even wanna talk about the aging California pretty boy that was Glen Drover. I didn't even see him headbang, and he was always checking his hair between songs! [img]/images/graemlins/bs.gif[/img] Every single one of his solos sounded like the testicles were ripped out. If he couldn't get Marty, why could he get Al Pitrelli back? At least he could rip it with attitude.

I agree Ellefson was a terrible bassist. Ok, not terrible but for me he was just a bassist.

Oh, by the way Dave actually tried to convince Poland to tour with him when they were in the studio, but Poland was unwilling to do so because he didn't want to leave OHM defunct for that long. To avoid confusion this is actually what Chris Poland said about the situation in a recent interview.

Yeah, I remember reading about that. Chris was asked back, but really wanted to continue persuing his own thing. It's interesting to note that this is not the first time he was asked back--Poland played on the Rust In Peace demos, but declined to rejoin Megadeth.

Poland essentially played on The System Has Failed as a favor to an old friend. It is sad to see Mustaine repay his friend by shitting on him on the Internet. I guess Chris made the right decision.
