Damn, I gotta get that new Nevermore, I hope it is badass.
Loomis is on of the best new players, definetly better than lahio etc. but he's no EVH, every Nevermore album must sell at least 15 millions worldwide and Loomis has to be innovative as hell, but he isn't, no one isn't, actually I'm not digging Nevermore because of lead playing, it is all done, Gilbert's and Malmsteen's alt. picking licks, Becker's arpeggios etc. Not very unique style like Steve Vai has. I like Nevermore because of the badass rhythm's.

It is kick ass. I've been listening to it constantly for about a month now.

What I dig about Loomis is his energy - he's a really good player, but there are a lot of those around. He's got this aggression to his playing that just makes his solos jump out of the speakers at you...

Well put it this way...Eddie was MY hero..I wanted to emulate him his playing until about ten years ago or so..

Loomis is to me now was Ed was to me then..

I gave up on Ed...well Ed gave up on Ed..but Ed did plant the seed and if it wern't for him me or loomis probably wouldn't ever care about guitar..

But Jeff is my man...he is what I strive for...and after learning a few EVH licks and being in a VH tribute band for years...

I can easily say that Loomis took the ball and ran so far from ed...that ed..is a dot in his rearview mirror...in the mirror black so to speak.. [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

Loomis is to me NOW...what ED was to me twenty years ago

He's the first guy to pump that yngwie shit properly. Madass leads and they always have their place. Its like the song or music comes first, which alot of guitar wankers seem to forget. Alot of cheesey shit just to show people you can play it is lame as, but Loomis turns his crazy ability into pure metal chaos. This Godless Endeavour is a perfect example. The craziest sweep set ever, but it fits the song and music perfectly. And makes me want to throw my 13 years of playing into a fucking bin and just cry [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
Although thanks to the rerelease of EoR, and the lead in tomorrow turn into yesterday I can now sweep a 5-string A minor pattern! Only took a few weeks to settle into it too. And yet so far from that last track on the new album, god DAMN!! [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Enemies of Reality, there last album before this one. A rereleased version that sounds a million times better was released a couple of months before This Godless Endeavor.
