Re: Jim Root and some Charvel\'s

I read on a website he has 1 strathead for their usual tuning and the other for the tuning in The Heretic Anthem.

Glad to see most like the guitars, I would also like to see one with a Floyd too.
Well Slipknot is not a band for eveyone but I think they kick ass.

Re: Jim Root and some Charvel\'s

I'm not a fan of most modern metal, but I think Slipknot is definitely better quality than most of the others. And at least Jim's playing a Charvel!

Re: Jim Root and some Charvel\'s

Slipknot may be a nu metal band, but Mick and Jim can surely shred.

+2. I am not into the costume thing but they do kick ass.
One of my students turned me on to a bunch of Lamb of God too. Holy crap, that band is REALLY good. Great riffs.

I don't care for Slipknot, although I was impressed with their live show, but A LOT of kids like them, and if that puts gets them interested in Charvels..well...cool. And yes jgcable Lamb of God are great!!

I don't like them personally.

But they can shred it up (check the Spider II movies page on the line6 homepage)

[/ QUOTE ]yeah, they can. I've knowsn both of those guys for quite a while. The singer in my old band was in a couple of bands with jim. Both those guys are great players.
Its a complete catastrophe. But Im a professional, I can rise above it. LOL

yeah...slipknot gets a bumb rap but a lot of people dont know the whole story. like how the solos on their self titled album got mixed out and stuff like that.

when i listen to slipknot i hear a pretty original band to be honest. especially on their latest album. i think the riff writing on there is really pretty awesome. sure, their lyrics appeal to the whole youth teen angst sort of crowd, but there are FAR worse bands out there than slipknot.

the riffing on the new album aint bad.. in general their music aint that bad, but the vocals and that 15 drummer thing puts me off =/

do share the story of how the solos got cut out =)
You can't play no muthfuggin' arpeggios on a tuba...

I don't get this... Why do I have to know the whole story? Their music on the disc sounds shit to my ears, that's all that matters to me. It sounds awesome to your ears, more power to you!

Who cares if they shred in their free time and sometimes in studio which will get mixed out anyways?

What a lame excuse...
