Django Reinhardt used to play that kind of stuff, pretty cool.

After watching this video last night, i went to the guy's website. Turns out, he's from the Django school of "gypsy jazz". On the 3 cd's he has, majority appears to be him playing django's songs. I love this style of guitar playing, so damn smooth, fun, melodic, and enough musical taste to make one sick.

Brilliant! Thanks a lot for the link.

My Dad's got a Django LP that I listen to every now and again. It's really great if you're into that kind of music. And if you're not, you should listen to his stuff anyway! It may make you change your mind. He's a legendary player.

I was so amazed by this guy I had to show my wife. She watches it and says: "what's so great about him"? "I've seen you play that kind of stuff" It just goes to prove love is blind AND DEAF!

My wife, who sings country, said something similar - her quote: "See, I'm used to hearing people in country do that sort of stuff all time. Watch the Grand Old Opry sometime..."

My reply: "Those guys are good, don't get me wrong, but they'd be doing the same thing I am watching this..."

Yeah, this was really good! Judging from that clip, his playing is alot more interesting than for example a Swedish guy named Andreas Öberg (who has monster chops, but he's playing them over and over again)... at least Öberg's playing was very boring when I saw him play live 2-3 years ago.

I used to play this style alot, and I'm nowhere near that good... but there are so many great guitarists in this style that you kinda get bored with many electric guitars shredders!

These guys are often just stunning, I mean guys like Bireli Lagrene, Stochelo Rosenberg etc, etc... (and they're among the more famous.... there are ALOT of equally great players I'd imagine among the gypsy societies)

Anyway, this guy seems really good, but Django was a genious! I guess you know the story about his hands...

Un-freaking-believable, that guy is far beyond awesome. On an acoustic, probably with heavy strings. Damn.

He's most likely playing a Monteleone. He's the only man that builds true Macafarri replicas, since he was taught by the man himself.
