anybody else like the band? i'm not a very big fan of the cookie mosnter vocals, but the choruses rule, very melodic and awesome guitar work!

anybody know what guitar corey (the dude with the jckasons) is using in the Pull harder on the strings of your martyr?
looks like a trans red DX10D, but has no pup rings and has a 3 way switch (not a blade one)
guitar in question .. its an import model for sure

trivium is pretty good, cool guitar riffs and tight drumming.. but the vocals annoy me too much

typical metalcore.

their "cookie monster" vocals suck...and I am a fan of death metal, he sounds like a wuss when he's doing growls. it sounds more like he passing a kidney stone than it does like a death metal growl. And his clean vocals are generic, just like atreyu and the rest of those types of bands. Vocals are very predictable....*yawn*

Did I mention their live tone sucks?

boring band. theres 300 other bands out there that have been doing this shit (and better) for 10+ years. Why Trivium has all of a sudden become so popular is beyond me.

yup...i pretty much agree with whats been said. they're not a bad band, but theres nothing whatsoever original about them and theres a thousand better bands with similar sounds.

no. trivium is a shitty version of american metalcore, a genre developed directly from bands like at the gates and in flames.

Trivium has a lot more metal than core, and I see a lot more Metallica than At The Gates, really.

when you have bands such At The Gates / Dark Tranquilty / Carnal Forge / Soilwork / In Flames / The Haunted / Arch Enemy / Carcass / Demension Zero / Dew Scented / Gardenian / Callenish Circle / Diabolical / Hypocrisy / Terror 2000 / The Crown / Darkane and so many more awesome Swedish death thrashers....

why is Trivium mentioned constantly..although OK at best..do they really derserve all this hype...look at the above list and then answer...I think there is dudes on this board that could beat them at their own game..they are nothing outstanding..

I like to promote bands of the upmost highest calibre of metal. How do I know about so many metal bands..I do all my own reserch instead of relying on Guitar World / MTV / Ozzfest and other such "metal" pimps..we all know about THOSE bands already...they had a lot of "promotion".

This is what I'm talking about..this is where the trend circle starts and ends.

I like the fact that they play Jacksons..cool

Jeff Loomis NEEDS a 7 string Jackson..when that happens..that'll be great news to me...he's been busting his chops in the metal scene for almost 20 years..he's not some new kid on the block in GW.
