Joe WWIII "when god turned away" with Joe Floyd is great..their last one with Marc Storace is a bit lame..Storace actually sound better on this than he does on that Krokus (that was aweful) ..

[/ QUOTE ]Hmmm, all I had was the first one. Never knew they put anything else out.

I don't know, after borrowing Sacred Groove from a friend of mine and listening to it a few times, I just hated it, especially Mandy Lion's vocals... but for some reason I didn't mind his vocals on the WIII project; probably because of the killer rhythm section of Jimmy Bain and Vinnie Appice. Then I heard a few songs off of Smoke This and thought they sucked, too! I also saw Lynch Mob a few years back with Oni... it was Oni's birthday, and he was wasted, couldn't remember lyrics to a couple Dokken songs, George's tone was horrible and he turned his back to the audience most of the night.

I saw Lynch Mob open for, of all bands, Warrant. Robert Mason was on vocals and the entire band was ON! At the end of the set, the guys in Warrant, nailed Lynch Mob with whipped cream pies. So during Warrant's set, when they were playing "I Saw Red", Lynch and Mason came out wearing trenchcoats and a strategically-placed red sock.

Cool. I would have loved to see Robert Mason. I liked him better than Oni Logan.
I was never a big Warrant fan, but for some reason I really liked I Saw Red, especially the acoustic version... I've got that cassette single somewhere.

I thought Oni sounded better on the 1st Mob album but I saw some live footage and he sucked. I assume Mason was better live. Can't beat the first 2 Mob albums though. The tone on Wicked Sensation is too killer. Sacred groove was OK but I don't put it on too much. I prefer the Mob albums. After that I haven't paid much attention.

I love the opening jam to his REH video. The riff is killer and he smokes (smoke this!) the leads.

I saw Lynch Mob with both singers. I thought Oni was better on the first album but Robert crushed him live. George kicked ass for both shows and I actually hung out with him for a while after the Wicked Sensation show. He was cool and very humble, and possibly a bit high. He finished off a Heineken while we spoke, sat the empty down, and 3 chicks got into a fight over it. Mick came over and "escorted" one of them away...a pretty funny scene.
I have some pics from that...I'll look for them and post.

Re: Lynch Mob - REvolution

I don't have "revolution" and some other work he's done, I just didn't care to pursue it. After "Sacred Groove", which IMO was the best work he has ever done to this day, most afterwards pales and doesn't even come close to the soulfulness of that album. Some tunes oof that album gives me chills.

Lynch, is one of the greats and made me a better player. He's a very articulate and clean player and has an incredible ear. But most of the stuff he's done since Sacred Groove, IMO, is just filler. Stuff/projects just to keep him busy so he doesn't get bored with having extra time on his hands.

Copying other tunes or whatever...
Each ear is different folks.
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

"Anyone who tries to fling crap my way better have a really good crap flinger."

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Yes, there's a bee in the pudding.

Tekky, why didn't you like the Lynch That Stole Riffness? I don't have that one, and have always debated buying it. I hate living in the age where you have to preview an album to decide on whether or not to buy it. Also, do you have Will Play for Food? If so, how is it? I've thought about getting the EP compilation off the Mob shop website, but again I hate buying something I can't hear first.

With the exception of Smoke This and Dokken's Shadowlife, I've liked everything George has put out. My wife has the Alice Cooper tribute disc Humanary Stew, and Lynch smokes Billion Dollar Babies on it. I think Furious George is a great cover album. Space Station #5 and Stormbringer are my favorite tracks.

The songs on Riffness were weak. As far as Will Play for Food goes, get it! It's a lot of covers and Lynch Mob b-sides as well, but it's worth the money for his cover of "Goin' Down" alone! While you're at it, pick up Syzygy. 3-song EP with Oni on vocals rocks.

I forgot about Syzygy. When I first got it I though it was total ass b/c I expected it to be Wicked leftovers. It's also very dry and raw sounding. After I got over that I came to really like the songs.

Mandy Lion is not my cup of tea either - just shock value with obnoxiousness to spare. Oni and George are a good match. Don Dokken has always sucked. D.D. should stick with producing other bands instead of performing.

LOL! I used to go to sleep listening to Sacred Groove. When Mandy's voice started in on The Beast, it would always wake me up.

I hear yeah on mandy Lion..but DAMN WWIII "when God turns away" is very cool!!!

OK I like 50% of REvolution..hey that's better than I liked it before. The only reason why..is because I was more of a fan of his work with Dokken than Lynch Mob..Lynch Mob had some great tunes..but there was some songs I didn't care for..and he covered those tunes again..

I didn't like some of those tunes the first time..

When this cd came out ..I was hoping it was going to be all new George Lynch material..with all new tunes and shred..that was probably my instant disappointment.!!

is that gonna happen..

By the way I love his solo on Tie Your Mother Down..that was one of my favorite solos on that album..

He's was a HUGE inspiartion and influence on me not as much as Eddie or Latter Criss Oliva ..but he was third line..

Uli I didn't get into to a few years later..Now Uli is my very all time fave.

Geirge has to be playing anYbershall on that Revolution...on the majority of that albulm..has to be.

Oh Ronnie LeTekro was a mojor role in my "speed" ..all the fast crap I play..I can thank Le Tekro..

There was so many awesome players..still are..But Ed/Gilbert/LeTekro/Lynch/Randy/DiMartini/Nuno/Stevens/Oliva/Satch/Vai/YJM..were the shit to me..those guys were my heroes ..still are.

Now my new Heroe is my friend Jeff Loomis..he's the ultimate Metal shredder today ..IMO.
