Emperor Anthems gear

Alrite,
listening to this album again, forgot how incredible the guitar sounds are!
I just wondered if anyone knew what gear was used (I'm guessing usa jacksons would be involved), especially amp-wise. The lead tone on The Wanderer is sexual!

In the Anthems era they were all using BC Rich gear. Samoth had an Ironbird, I believe, and Ihsahn was using a Warlock, I think, maybe a Bich.

Amp wise, they were Marshall guys, but I also remember them using the Digitech 2101 or whatever those preamps are named through Marshall power amps throughout their career.

I have a full gear listing from their later days at my house.

Also, towards the end of their career, Samoth was using a Jackson RR1, whereas Ihsahn was sporting either a DK-1 or a Fusion of some sort.

Isahn looks to be playing an import DK-2 on the DVD.

Here's the layout I got from a magazine.. I have NO clue what language it is...

Ihsahn (Live) - "JACKSON Dinky, BC RICH Bitch, 2 amplis MARSHALL JCM 900 triple-corps"
Ihsahn (Studio) - "idem + GIBSON Flying V, claviers ENSONIQ TS-12"

Samoth (Live) - "JACKSON Randy Rhoads, JACKSON Dinky, 2 amplis MARSHALL JCM 900 triple-corps, médiators DUNLOP"
Samoth (Studio) - "idem + BC RICH Iron Bird"

Looks like French to me.

I remember seeing all those guitars in Loss and Curse video and the DVD. I think BC Richs were imports too. I can't remember Samoth's Rhoads... Was it an RR1?

Yes, I'm pretty sure they were imports. The older ones though that were a lot nicer.

Also, Samoth's Rhoads was an RR1, he uses the same one still in Zyklon and I saw him from about 1 foot away, so I can verify. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

I can remember seeing them live a good few years ago & one of them was using a Marshall 9100 or 9200 poweramp with the digitech 2120 pre-amp you cant miss that thing its like a pink/purple colour.This setup is what dimmu borgir were using around 2000/2002 maybe to this day. It is a good setup for black metal

I don`t think he used the digitech 2120 preamp on the Anthems album, I had one of those but it was too digital sounding since the preamp goes through A/D converters anyway.
