Hey Bill, I thought you'd heard they used Peavey XXX on the new CD?

THe new one is pretty seriously brutal in low end single note tone. The chugsa are almost digital sounding though, but the low end notes and squeals are very nice.

Guitar World puts people on the cover that will sell the magazine, pure and simple. Why would a kid want to read about how much effort Jeff put in to get to his current ability level, and a bunch of music theory stuff they won't understand, when they can say, "Oh, cool, a new Green Day tab!"

Guitar Player has always been the more serious of the two magazines. GW is more like MTV on paper.

Looks like the boys took all the cheap stuff on tour in Europe. I don't balme them, I'd hate to pay all this money to have my nice guitars shipped, only to have them stolen out of the back of a bar. They probably just bought stuff over there.

I'm pretty sure that the Hellraiser is Loomis's main guitar now. And being a C7 Blackjack player myself, I can vouch that the higher-end Schecter Diamond sevens are nice instruments. I thought Smyth was playing a USA BC Rich seven in Nevermore?

As far as amps go, there are a lot of different possibilities--maybe they rented gear over in Europe. It would cost a lot of $$$ to transport a bunch of halfstacks across the Atlantic, so wouldn't it be more sensible to rent gear?

I know they all shard amps on the last tour. And when they played here they borrowed some friend’s power amps for their POD Pros, so it's very possible.

Is that really a platinum series? I highly doubt it. they make a platinum series quilt top EMG loaded 7 string Warlock???????

Sort of. At the moment, they only do black ones, but I guess in the past there would've been quilt ones as well - they slowly discontinued the quilt finishes on the regular NJ Vs & Ironbirds as well, until they only built black ones. Erik Rutan I think had a blue quilt maple Ironbird import that's been discontinued ever since, that was about 2-3 years ago if my memory serves me right.

Where exactly do you see the quilt? Installing EMGs is not a huge deal, plus the script on the headstock with the TR cover etc., it IS a platinum.

Although Steve is endorsed by them has at least one USA Ignitor, one Bich and one Warlock.
