heheh, yes, that venue is a dive, (or at least it always used to be- it's actually been renovated in those pics and I haven't been in since!), it's not that well regarded in Glasgow. I'd expect they rented gear and mesas would probably be the easiest thing to get over here that they'd be used to I guess (when you think of the cost of shipping amps plus all those tranformers they'd need, it's probably the most economical way). That gig was them being supported by Dew Scented and I think in Glasgow at least, Dew Scented were probably a bigger draw. What's big in the States is almost definitely not what's big over here I reckon- not saying Nevermore aren't a good band, I just haven't heard much of them. Actually missed that gig because we had a rehearsal,

Could be that they're playing promoter/venue supplied rigs to save money on transport to and from Europe (not to mention the different voltage requirements).

I am putting my money on them renting/borrowing gear in Europe....NOBODY brings their entire rig to Europe that is at Nevermore's level of popularity...they are small time band, not even comparable sales/popularity wise to bands like In Flames and Soilwork, who, in the grand scheme of things are also really small bands.

First of all, the show was awesome. Truly amazing.
Equipment wise, I'd think they'd rent at least cabs, drums and stuff while on tour in Europe, as it's a) a pain in the ass to get all that stuff over here and b) we have different voltage here, you could bring adaptors but those get lost rather easily and whatever. Today they used Mesa Rectifiers through Marshall cabs - no Kranks to be seen anywhere. I doubt Krank has distribution here in Europe, anyway. Guitarwise, Jeff used his black Schecter with abalone body binding, Steve used a US Ignitor 7-string in trans red?purplish? and a bolt-on US Warlock 7 in solid white with (I think) black body binding. There was another bolt-on Warlock on stage but I only saw the back of it.

Warrel Dane is one insane motherfucker. Enemies Of Reality was the last encore, before they started into it he said something like this, in a rather irate way: "You know, there's a guy here up front in a fucking Backstreet Boys t-shirt. YOU DO KNOW THEY STAND FOR ALL I FUCKING AM AGAINST? This shirt must be destroyed! They are the Enemy! (short pause) Seriously, you should burn that thing!" [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
He also did some other funny/weird stuff I can't be bothered writing down, but the guy with the Backstreet Boys shirt made everyone's day I guess.
Prices were very fair all around. 20€ for a ticket, 15€ tshirt or girlie, 20€ longsleeve. I got a tshirt with the album cover on front and some impaled skulls on the back and a white longsleeve, band picture/logo front and large logo back. The shirt with the tourdates on back was one with a HUGE skull and "I Am Enemy" on front and the dates on the back, it didn't look too good as far as I'm concerned, and it's not connected to the TGE album. Apart from that, the skull is huge... I mean, I'm all for skulls, but that shirt looks like The Punisher became a Nevermore-fan.

Oh yeah, Mercenary were pretty dull and Dew Scented good as usual.

Yeah, Warrel is a clean chap now.


he almost died last year due to alcohol induced diabeties.

He lost like 50 pounds and now he's sober and better than ever.
