I've listened to this one a lot, and I really love the songs and performance...John Bush is great IMO. (what the HELL are they doing that "reunion" shit for anyway [img]/images/graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img])

But I gotta ask...WTF is up with Benante's bass drum? Is he using a 1983 yamaha synthesizer for that shit or what the hell??
or am I the only one who thinks it sounds like crap? [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

oh well...maybe it's his Crap Signature Sound or something [img]/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]

To me, Rob mangles all the solos, which spoils it for me...also, I prefer the STD / ATL / SoE era, so NFV is my ultimate Anthrax Live....

i agree about the bass drums. to me it sounds like overly compressed mic'd bass drums. he should use metal kick pads, or triggers. i HATE the bass drum sound. AWFUL!!!!!

I thought the reunion DVD was great. I only like the old stuff also, so this is what I wanted to see. Only wish that they weren't tuned down to D though.

Anthrax has two eras and two fan bases for sure. My all time fav is ATL it flat out kicks ass. I liked the Joey era stuff so much more. I think Bush was singing when they had White Zombie opening for them. I stayed for like three songs of their set and left. Bush I am sure had nothing to do with it, but after he joined they seemed to drop the solos and try to go with what to me was a stripped down sound. I am glad for the reunion if it ever comes to Dallas, but I understand those that are bumbed that Bush is on the bench.

It's weird, because if I had to choose a voice, I'd say I prefer John Bush's, it's just I prefer the music from the Joey period…...

i'm with you neilli. i like bush's voice, but like the older music. i'd LOVE to have "fistful of metal" and "spreading the disease" re-recorded with bush....WITHOUT rearrangements like they did on that record from a while back where they recorded old songs.

just erase neil turbin and joey belladonna's vocals and record john bush over top!!!!
