Re: jake e lee interview
Excellent read!
Another thing I've noticed is Jake is never using a whammy bar. How come?
"Back in '75 my only guitar was a Gibson SG standard and I wanted to add a Strat, so I worked at a local music store in exchange for any Strat in the store. I thought they all came with wiggle-sticks, but when I went through all the guitars, about 20, to find the one I liked the best, there was one without the bar that sounded way better than any of the others. That's the one that became my favorite. Later it was repainted by my roommate who worked in the Charvel paint shop. Ever since, I've felt that any tremolo (vibrato, really) system on a guitar takes away from the tone, at least the tone I'm looking for."
Thanks DM!Charvel: Model1, 2 & 5, Surfcaster 12
Jackson: DK2, JRS-2, Kelly

Jake is still one of my very few "guitar heros".
Thanks for that!

Re: jake e lee interview
I remember seeing the US Festival special on Showtime and just sitting there staring at the television after Jake's solo in Paranoid..totally dumbfounded...Couldn't wait for Ozzy's next album...In '86 my parents got me a case of Molson with two Ozzy tickets in it...Damn,Jake was awesome live..Sorry I never got to see Badlands, and hope beyond hope he tours again....Bon Jovi is like a frozen Coca Cola.. It's cool, it's crunchy, but when all is said and done it is still pop....

Re: jake e lee interview
One of my biggest inspirations back in the 80's. Saw him on the Bark at the Moon, Ultimate Sin, Voodoo Highway tours and also on a solo tour with Mandy Lion on vocals in '94. He kicked ass every time I saw him but I think his performance on the Ultimate Sin tour was his best.
