True... Phil's necks are almost 1/8 inch thicker than the production PC1 necks.
The specs were posted on defleppard.com a while back in one of the forums.

It was funny because whenI saw them the other night, he played the Bella for the last encore. I was standing at the side of the stage, and when his tech gave it to him, he came over and sort of held it out with a grin on his face as if to say "check it out..!". Pretty cool.

When this guitar had a Kahler cam trem, it was my holy grail. I even painted a Model 6 that I owned to look just like it.

Yea, a lot of his had the Kahlers. They were all switched over to Floyds. I played his Bela and silver crackle, and the repair job on the body from the Kahler to Floyd was amazing. you would have never known it had a Floyd, but it was the same guitar in all the pictures you see. Some people thought it was 2. You can tell cause he has his name engraved on the 12th fret, at least Bela has it.

Given that I too am into way thick necks (like those 90's Jackson Firebirds just to give you an idea) what is the chances that one of us mere mortals can order either a PC1 with Phil's choice of neck or perhaps just the neck alone?

I too have had a few chances to grab his guitars and they are really way thick! My favorite is his "Chavez" (I'm sure that Brooks knows which one I am talking about!) which seems to be a mutt Charvel with a bloody baseball bat for a neck.

Massive resonance and sustain on that baby!

I saw a VH-1 classic ad for some show they're doing, Def Leppard is slated to perform. In the ad, they showed Joe Elliot and Phil. Phil was wearing a purple Charvel t-shirt... Pretty cool.
