Opeth is all about atmosphere. Nevermore is a totally different band - but having said that Dream Neon Black is a very doomy album. I love them both, and I envy you idiots [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] who got to see them together

I'm sorry you can't appreciate good musicianship. I happen to like a wide variety of music, and find none of it boring. Perhaps if you took a little time to try and understand what is going on in what you listen to, you'd have a greater appreciation for bands such as Opeth, Ulver Solefald, and Caravan. But suggesting that seems like talking to a brick wall.


So forget it. I have better things to do.

geeesh, what the heck are you talkin' about dude, John is one of the few guys who has a really cool temper here, he just said that Opeth was booring live, he didn't say that they were the biggest shit. You just started bashing him. And how he can't appriciate good musicianship? He likes Yngwie and Criss Oliva and is pretty badass guitar player himself, in fact I think is way better player than those opeth dudes. And if you like wide variety of music then why you only talk about metal bands?

Drippeth, I've seen more bands, bought more CDs, played at more live shows and have more time on the fretboard than you ever will in your little town there. I do have a grip, Drip. I know boring Drippeth, I know boring. t was just that, and I had higher hopes of them I assure.

Opeth fanboys usually shit their pants when someone says that they don't like Opeth. I should know, some of my close friends are Opeth fanboys that practically wanted to burn me at the stake when I said that I didn't like the new album.

Here's a couple of things to get off of my chest and take the heat off of Cleveland Metal.. Heh.. Their new album is really boring. Mikael Akerfeldt is a lame death metal singer, has a really wussy normal singing voice. Their latest albums pale in comparison to their earlier works. I actually enjoy the band but their newest release seems to pretty much just combine everything that I didn't like about them into a big melting pot and mix it all up into one big pile of suckage. The upside of the new album is that the soloing is top notch and when they do actually hit those points that are good, they're really good.

NEVERMORE is my FAVORITE band on the planet ...this is NO secret. The word "Favorite" is a understatement on how I feel about Nevermore and Jeff Loomis. They inspire me like you won't believe in every way. They can do NO wrong in my book. If Warrel Dane farted the song Volare' into the microphone for an hour..I would cheer him on...that's how much I love Nevermore..

I assume Drip feels this passionate about Opeth. I too have been a Opeth fan myself since early '98...by mere accident.

People here on this board said they can't stand Nevermore..even my good friend John at one time didn't care for them. That didn't warrant a personal Attack of his or their character.

I don't expect everybody to like all the obscure stuff I listen too , you included Drip...most people don't even know half the stuff I love. Does this mean they all suck..are they less than human..an "asshole" ?

So, who cares if somebody doesn't like YOUR favorite band..big deal.
